The Dark Knight TDK Press Screenings

I love it when some fans are disappointed with early reviews, even when they are positive... they are dissapointed becuase the reviewers are still alive. That their heart didn't explode from the awesomness of seeing TDK, therfor its not the 'end all' film people hope it is. just a very good experience at the theater.

I think Nolan got trapped into an ending he might not have made had he known what would happen to Heath
I've read this sentence multiple times....and I still don't know what you're trying to say. :funny:

im very distressed that this is happening. I almost dont believe it. All these months (years!) of keeping the film under high security and they just throw it out to journalist like its nothing? they even have had the novelisation put back to avoid spoilers. all that work and they are going to show it to loud mouth writers 3 weeks before hand?
it doesnt make sense, if they think that the press will be polite and keep what they saw quiet then they are in for a huge surprise. many reviewers and websites will be posting it up as quickly as possible to attract people. Also with reviews in so early I can only see people becoming confused thinking its out early.
a week before is understandable, but 3 - 4 weeks is insane, why? why are they doing this, they dont need to. the hype and belief that this film will be great is already imbedded with SO many people.
Wally Pfister said last Saturday that they had to finish the color timing right away because of "press junkets." They ARE having screenings now. The film is finished, and I think having these screenings was on the schedule. He felt that they were a little rushed into completing the color timing, but from what I gleaned from his personality, he could spend all year color timing TDK. :funny:

At least they managed to GET the film finished before it came in front of an public audience. Remember the Hancock screenings for test audiences? :oldrazz:

There are other press people who will have seen it by the end of the week. I think WB wants to get the hype machine revved up every more, if they have this much faith in the critics to spread the good word.

I tried to get into a screening for "a new action adventure movie, due to be released from a major Hollywood studio later this summer" but it was sold out before I got tickets. Dunno if it was TDK though.
Mummy 3

Oh god. Can you imagine paying for a mystery ticket thinking it was TDK....and getting THE MUMMY 3???

:lmao:
Test screenings are free. :oldrazz:

Which was good when I got into one for "The Heaven Project" and was grateful they gave us free popcorn and soda because that film was HORRID.

Test screenings are free. :oldrazz:

Yeah, generally. But he said it was 'sold out'. How can it be 'sold out' if you don't have to pay??? hmmmmmm???

:cwink:

Free popcorn and soda is always a good thing.

BTW

Hey lookit this guys! Peter Travers of Rolling Stone confirms alot of what this "lying ******* on RT" has been saying! Oh but you don't have to buh-lieve me, have a gander for your own self, he-heuck!

The deft script, by Nolan and his brother Jonathan, taking note of Bob Kane's original Batman and Frank Miller's bleak rethink, refuses to explain the Joker with pop psychology. Forget Freudian hints about a dad who carved a smile into his son's face with a razor. As the Joker says, "What doesn't kill you makes you stranger."

They can only fit so many butts in the seats before they get in trouble with the fire department, you know. :oldrazz:

Poor choice of words on his part, I bet. Test screenings are always free - you just have to RSVP in time or show up early enough.

was it this week. because my brother's friend is going this thursday and most likely it's dark knight..

Yeah, I was shocked to see the showing was 'sold out'.

They make you pay for test screenings now?

Thanks for straightening me out, Anita.

Eckhart earns major props for scarily and movingly portraying the DA's transformation into the dreaded Harvey Two-Face, an event sparked by the brutal murder of a major character.

hmmmm. He's probably just BS'ing. Peter Travers didn't see TDK. He only wants attention....

:whatever:

Two movies starring Brendon Frasier that aren't Encino Man.

OUCH!

I've read this sentence multiple times....and I still don't know what you're trying to say. :funny:
I meant that Nolan may have done the ending differently if he had known Ledger was gonna die, lees two-face and more Joker

The guy from RT is on there right now.

If you guys don't believe him, than front him on it. Embarass the **** outta him and expose him as a liar....why be casual about it.

You call BS, yet you offer no alternative information to prove your case.

You can't reveal why you know it's BS? That sounds like a bunch of crap to me.....

I claimed it was BS because I know of a subplot involving Gordon that the reviewer did not mention when I asked about Gordon.

I will say that it appears he simply chose to ignore that plot when he made he answered my question because it appears he is absolutely correct.

Eh, who knows. The Nolans are both slaves to story, so changing it may have been out of the question even had they known.

From all accounts, Joker steals the show, so no worries there. :yay:

...but i like brendan frasier

And do we know for certain that that certain subplot existed anyway?

anyhoo, bedazzled is such an AWESOME flick

Yes. I have seen the film schedule that mentioned filming this plot, I have a friend who personally witnessed the filming of a critical scene involving this plot. It is in the film.

So is the Rotten Tomatoes guy for real after all? It's kind of looking that way...
