Teaser Trailer with SUPERMAN RETURNS

The only thing I can remember from reading these posts is everyone seems to like Movie Mans avatar. What am I missing, what is so special about it?

It would be a very short tease and nothing more.

Also...has this news about Raimi saying it is going to be with SR and there being 4 vilians been confirmed yet. Any one of us could have said that.

Sam Raimi himself said the teaser might be with superman returns and avi arad said there will be four villains

I doubt there will be a teaser with SR.

It's too soon, they've never released a teaser this early in production. For Spidey 2, they started filming in January and we didn't get a TEASER until December.

I just don't see it happening.

Actually the infamous WTC spidey teaser came out a year before the film did. After 9/11 the teaser was pulled for obvious reasons, although I think you can still find it on the internet.

i think its a smart move to put it with Superman Returns, alot more people will go see SR than Talledega Nights (or however u spell it.) i don't even want to go see TN, i didn't know if i wanted to go see SR either but now i have a good reason too and besides its the same suited audience too and will get everyone hyped. oh and i dont think its too early for a teaser to be released, even tho it will most likely be a very short teaser, and by that i mean 10 - 20 seconds max. it would still get everyone talking about it for the next year.

Funny coincidence- I went to see MI:3 last night and saw a standee for Talledaga Nights. Apparently its a Nascar comedy starring Will Farrell? Definitely more exposure for a Spidey trailer with Supes.

i think the teaser will show clips of the first two movies and the development of Harry. . . I think all we will see is Spiderman webslinging and a sight of Sandman. S. Raimi probably plans on having two teaser trailers and one theatrical trailer. If he does indeed release one with SR, the next would probably be in Oct/Nov.

So i count on a 50sec teaser

How do you figure that? As in hitting an audience base less likey to go see a superhero movie?

I'm not buying that Sony would agree to put their teaser on Supes Returns myself. UNLESS WB paid them to do it. It would DEFINITELY help the box office for SR. Kind of a win-win for both probably, except I don't think Sony has to worry about hyping SM3 really.

With Supes Iconic standing, they (Sony) could see it as an opportunity to reach more non-superhero fans, as those might be the type that would go see Supes and possibly not see Spider-Man... although I think Spider-Man is catching Supes in that category with the success of SM1 and SM2.

I just don't see WB and Sony in such an agreement. I would think Sony would attach it to one of their own... in a bottom line $$$ move.

Spider-Man has already reached non-superhero fans. It's just a matter of attaching it to a film that lots of people will see. I'm sure Sony will attach it to 'Talledaga Nights' and Johnny Depp's 'PIRATES 2,' as well.

WB has been attaching Supes to Marvel properties. Why wouldn't Sony do the same? Afterall Sony/Columbia attached Ghost rider to X-men, a Fox property.

And- Let's be real. In 2004 Sony spent close to 300 million on Spidey 2 in terms of neg cost and P & A, and yet the film got skunked by Shrek 2. Spidey isn't infallible. Which is why Sony is making sure they get an early start on the summer of 2007.

Supes is as you mention an icon and will get the comic and non-comic audience alike, which is why Spidey would do well to be attached. Talledaga Nights will likely do well in certain parts of the country, but doesn't have the anticipation as SR. They want Spidey 3 to be seen as an event film, so attaching it to similar event films is a wise move.

it shows us how phoenix shud have been presented :( damn rothman

So has this been confirmed yet... no doubt we'll see a trailer with SR?

It's only been confirmed by Raimi from my knowledge. I haven't seen anywhere else that confirmed it.

Well I'll take it... don't want to wait another month... it's prolly gonna only be like ten seconds like the Hulk teaser with SM1... where we only saw his eyes and the house blowing up... I don't think it will show us who the unconfirmed villains are...

I agree. I don't think it's going to be anything too special, but it would still be cool to see a teaser with SR.

That's why your original statement, that Spider-Man teaser would be attached to Talledaga Nights did not make sense, unless one assumes Sony is trying to reach audiences that are not target audiences. Non Superhero film audiences (Talledaga Nights vs. SR).

I agree that SM3 teaser would get a lot of viewings if attached to SR, I just think Sony will attach it to one of their own, since it is the must see teaser.

Personally, I hope it's with SR, as that will be the sooner of the two. But I doubt it.

And Ghost Rider is an entirely different situation from SM3 IMO. Marvel/Sony is trying to build an audience for that film (good luck on that IMO)... SM3... has a built in audience. The people will be there. The risk, if there is, is that the teaser disappoints. Possibly becuase it was too early and rushed, and the CGI they will include in it.. not at the level we expect from SM1 and SM2.

Well, there are non-target audiences- and then there are NON-TARGET audiences.

By that I mean, there are audiences that may not initially be interested in films like Spidey, and there are people who will NEVER be interested in films like Spidey.

Talledaga Nights looks like it's meant to appeal to the "Dukes of Hazard" audience. Some of which I'm sure are into Spidey, but some of which aren't.

Now Superman, on the other hand appeals to a wider range audience. People who don't care about superheroes per se are still going to see Superman. So attaching the Spidey trailer to that, expands the possible audience. Perhaps getting back some of the audience that they lost after Spidey 1.

If Sony goes with Talledaga and avoids Supes- yes, WE- the Spidey fans will be packed into TN's opening weekend for the trailer. But there's a huge audience that won't give a damn and certainly won't be there, that likely would be there with the SR opening.

And clearly, if Sam is saying it will be attached to SR, it's something being discussed and aimed for. Likely the only problem is having it ready in time.

Oh...man. This would be so cool, excuse me, amazing!

I think they would build more hype by having a descent teaser trailer with that will farrel movie instead of superman returns. that's at the end of the movie going season, to leave it fresh in everybody's minds to remember for next early movie season. the preview would be less forgotten this way, rather than having seen spider-man 3 preview followed by a summer of huge movies.

Maybe a family friendly small teaser with superman returns and then a either a better teaser or theatrical with the will farrel movie.

This isn't like Superman Returns and Spidey 3 are in competition this summer. Spidey 3 is a whole year away. Attaching it to SR is a good move.

And I think they'll show a little more than just scenes from the first two. I know they'll definately show some shots that don't need any CGI whatsoever.

The real question is... have they started with any CGI as well as editing as they continue principal photography?

But don't forget, there's more to come. Mark Steven Johnson mentioned that the full trailer for Spidey 3 will be with the premiere of Ghost Rider in February, not to mention the trailer with the Super Bowl. But a good teaser with the big event of this summer will be a nice lead-off. As opposed to merely sticking it with something like Talledaga Nights.

The trailers are looking good the special affects are great they've change that cheap poster after I severely criticize it .
lol
Anyway! I’ll be one the first in line to see supe return
Go to see it all of you Hypster
Superman is a noble and a whole lot more mysterious character than any other superhero!

Because For me nobody really knows about krypton or how its people really looks like and that’s what makes superman so mysterious and the fact that he is the last of his kind .
I know, I know, lot of nitwits been messing with that image lately
But known this …
Clark being raised as a human for so long that he only interprets krypton and it’ people with his human psyche
Just like all species over the entire universe see Galactus differently!

So it would be interesting to finally see “one day” that kryptonian don’t really look like human or don’t have any specific humanoid for that matter
Kal-el arriving upon earth just adapt to the form and shape of the most evolve species on that planet and that’s what it means being above human and that’s what make him Superman .
