Because, even if it was an accident, that transmission makes it look like it's attacked. At the very least, it warns the military that their is an alien presence, and its the only warning we get before they arrive, not necessarily attack.

But I'm inclined to think it's Megatron, and that it's the only warning we get before they arrive and bring the war with them.

doubt it, especially since the TF in the trailer looks nothing like the life size model of Bumblebee in leaked photographs. I mean at the very least his head and arm kibble would match up even if the endoskeleton didn't.

it's not Bumblebee in the trailer. My guess is that it's not one of the Autobots. It is probably Megatron

As a viewer, the audience is not suppose to know who that robot is; hence the tag: teaser trailer. Furthermore, that is why they layed a nifty lens flare on that shot.

Trust me, you will not see any autobots or decepticons beating up any rovers in the film...

The best of the whole teaser was the logo, which transformed.

The Mars rover or whatever it was... stupid stupid stupid... You'd think they could've got somethign better..

Even a car driving, black screen, transform sound effect... logo.

I completely agree. I would add a close-up of a robot foot stomp a la Jurassic Park at the end of the sequence you describe.

That "teaser" didn't harken to ANYTHING "Transformers." Nothing! It could have been a teaser for Red Planet or Invaders from Mars or a gazillion other movies. That's what made it horrible and uninspired IMHO.

I was adding to another's poster's pie-in-the-sky "anything is better than this" idea, which I agreed with.

You want Positive?
I like Steven Spielberg. I like Megs not showing up until the end (at least in theory). And, I don't really mind if Cullen and Welker don't do the voices. Nor do I mind if they change Prime's colors around a bit. And I've said all of this. My main gripe is with the idea of Hot-rod being the star Autobot... I think it's cliche. But that's just my opinion.

I've also said I liked The Island and I think Bay has matured as director. That's a good thing.

So debate a point about the movie... Because right now you sound like the troll.

I can't believe some of you are criticizing this trailer. It looks cool as hell!!

What did you expect with a teaser? Full-blown CGI? They're still making the movie. I thought the suspense and tie-in with the Mars explorer was genius. Far more than I expect from a Michael Bay film.

Not expecting full blown CGI.. but I thought theyd show something a little more.. something with like.. movie footage maybe. maybe a clip of the camaro/mustang race.. or just random clips with a speech by who we'd be lead to believe is optimus in the background or something.. I dunno.. thought it could have been better but it was kind of cool to tie it in with the mars rover.

I thought it (the teaser) wasnt supposed to come out till the 4th to mark the date one year before?

I thought the music of the trailer was very nice and effective.

Hopefully for the real teaser we'll see a shot of Prime or maybe Megatron. And as we all know, Transformers are the most complicated characters to do with CGI effects.

Which is why I'm surprised it's coming out next year.

I lked it but it did suck. Spidey 3 was a better teaser! But if you winge and say that that wasn't an announcement teaser...the X3 ANNOUNCEMENT teaser was better...and that was a bit sucky.

How so? How was that *original* or in any way better than "Transformers?" Have you seen every other B movie in that last 80 years??? Well, IMHO It's cliched.

That "teaser" could have easily been for Red Planet (in fact I think it almost literally was), Invaders from Mars, Martian Chronicles, Plan B From Outer Space, etc.

There was nothing in that "teaser" that evoked "Transformers."

Far more than I expect from a Michael Bay film.
