Ted 2 gets release date...and it's summer 2015

They had them divorce? That sucks.

Haven't seen it yet but if that's the case I'm presuming that Amanda Seyfried is supposed to be a love interest?

it was really poorly written. The chemistry with Seyfried is poor too.

Lori dumped him because she was trying to change him too much, and John didn't like the person he had become. Also, she would never do drugs with him. Go figure. This is the despite Lori's basically accepting Ted and John at the end of the first movie.

Sometimes its best to stick with the original and not even bother to see the sequel.
That way, it doesn't taint the memory of the original experience .

A lot of the jokes fell flat this time around. Nowhere near as funny as the first, however, the [BLACKOUT]Jurassic Park[/BLACKOUT] reference got a big laugh from me.

Just saw this yesterday. Glad I didn't have to pay for it. Not that it was terrible, just fairly disappointing. Borrowing scenes from "Breakfast Club", "Jurassic Park", and "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles" was just lazy writing.

I liked it.

I dont get if you liked the first why you wouldnt like this. It was along the same lines. It wasnt as good as the first but it was still pretty good.
However, it was too long and the whole climax was pretty stupid.

My favorite gag was when they went to the improv.

I dont know what people wanted with writing Kunis out.

"They move in herds. They DO move in herds."

Ummm, you're looking at pot plants. You haven't even smoked any of them yet. What the hell are you looking at that moves in herds?

I'm a big Seth MacFarlane fan but the first movie was incredibly unfunny. Looks like the sequel is even worse.

the nerd fight at comic con was awesome, and having Warburton cosplay as the Tick and Dorn cosplay as Worf is classic!

That's too bad about Seyfried. I may go tonight. Was she funny in it?

I thought she was great I loved that they were comparing her eyes to a gollum :hehe:, especially during the previously mentioned nerd fight :funny:.

No. The only thing that's supposed to be funny about her is that she has big eyes and she smokes pot. That's it.

Oh geez, the Gollum jokes. I don't even see it or find it funny.

Well it made 33 mil in 3rd place. Not a bomb but they probably wanted more.

With this underperforming and then AMWTDIW flopping last year, I'm betting McFarlene's live action film career is done for a while

Ted would've been better off if Ted 2 never got made.

What they did to Mila Kunis' character just leaves a bad taste in my mouth at the end.

Parts of Ted 2 are funny and all. The movie has a good message, but it is inferior to the original.

If Seth MacFarlane does have another misfire like this, it's not going to help his career.

Honestly, I think the problem is spreading himself so thin by working on so many projects at once. I mean, didn't he have to do full stop on Flinstones animated series reboot because of burnout?

I think these box office results may just kill any chance of a third TED movie, but Seth will be afforded one or two more swings at the bat before we can say his movie career is dead.

I hope McFarlene and Wahlberg team up again Ted or not. THey have good chemistry

This is just silly.

What would you have had them do? They couldn't get Kunis back for a cameo Im guessing and there's no organic way to write her out.

They couldn't say she was like visiting her parents or on an extended business trip?

Again, I haven't seen it yet but I'm just saying there were dozens of other scenarios they could've gone with. Was it really necessary to go to the extreme and have them flat out divorce?

They just needed a love interest in there for whatever reason. I feel like it would've been funnier to just have her be out of town and keeping the running gag of all these insanely hot chicks hitting on him.

I think Seth should just stick to animation. His humor and style works better in an animated half hour show more than an 90 min movie. For example, that whole musical number at the beginning of the movie was to long and unneeded.

I think it works when he has a few cartoony gags a la Airplane or Naked Gun, like the guy that did a line with Sam Jones, or the 317 police call.

I don't see her going on an extended business trip or visiting her parents any better than them getting divorced.
The only benefit is that they could've written her into Ted 3 more easily

Oh yeah that was stupid.

I honestly think MacFarlene should take a break and this is from someone who has like all 3 of his movies (yes I like AWTDIW). Family Guy hasn't been very good in a while, American Dad hasnt been good, and then there was Cleveland Show and even that show Dad...

I just think he needs to get his mind right or maybe do a movie/show where he's not the writer, creator, director, or even influencer. I doubt he will though.

OT: YOu know now that I think of it, I think that McFarlene would've been a good replacement for Jon Stewart

That was hilarious. I can't believe they went there. I loved the Liam Neeson cameo and the improv gag. The first film is better for me , but they still had some great moments. Also it could of been trimmed down a bit. I'm not a fan of Family Guy , but I think Ted and Wahlberg together are comedy gold.
