There's something very amusing about Ted Lasso, a serious contender for "Nicest Fictional Character of All Time", being released in McFarlane's Movie Maniacs line, which as the name suggests, started out with characters like Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees and Michael Myers.

Sudeikis returning in a large capacity is a surprise. I would have assumed the show would continue as AFC Richmond with Ted only making cameo appearances.

I'm sure it'll be worth watching but it still seems off for Ted to come back immediately after the way season 3 ended.

Sure, by all means, don't wait for his schedule to clear up even though he's a major character. They've gotta rush production on this ASAP since we all know the last season had such a cliffhanger ending.

By the way, Jamie is nowhere near the top of my favorite characters list on the show but it certainly makes more sense for him to come back than Ted.

You better believe it: Ted Lasso is officially back as Apple TV+ has greenlighted a fourth season of its flagship comedy series, with Jason Sudeikis set to return as star and executive producer.

According to sources, Juno Temple, who played Keeley in the first three seasons, is in negotiations to rejoin fellow original cast members Sudeikis (Coach Lasso) as well as Hannah Waddingham (Rebecca), Brett Goldstein (Roy) and Jeremy Swift (Leslie) who were locked in for the new installment back in August.

And, picking up where Season 3 left off, I hear the Season 4 premiere episode will film in Kansas (likely Kansas City) beforeTed Lasso heads back to the UK. Casting of new roles is expected to begin shortly, with production eying a July start, sources said.

Really hope they take advantage of the whole women’s team angle. I’ve watch some videos of some teams playing and it gets pretty brutal, even more so than a lot of men’s teams.

Would be really good to have LGBTQIA+ representation and tackling the whole current “trans women aren’t women” bulls**t debate currently going on in women’s sports by casting some actual people in the community to play the roles. Though, with a lot of companies acquiescing and caving in to appease Trump by removing anything considered by MAGA to be “woke“, I’m unfortunately less optimistic on that particular front.

Fingers crossed, though. So many interesting dynamics you can play with that would really help make it feel fresh and not just a retread of what they did before.
