Apparently the director supposedly said that Leo is a girl pretending to be a guy.

Cross dressing chick? Cool.

Yeah Apparently the game is 15 percent complete.

Two new female characters? Strange...certainly not following the trend set by Namco (two new characters+one reissue). Usually there's one female character but this is a change I suppose.

And whats this about Namco being ******ed? The guys in the 'GunDamn' department maybe but our boys in the fighting game section only have one mar on their otherwise perfect record (Tekken 4) which is more than what I can say for Itakagi's DOA what with its overtly pretty characters and of course DOAXtreme Volleyball 1&2.

We didn't get much close-up in the vid either. Rest assured that the real game quality is much better. I've noticed it on my VF5. Lei Fei has a protuding vein on the left side of his forehead and you can practically see the hair on Akira's arm, stuff you probably can't see on the so-so quality of online videos. Namco will deliver in terms of graphics...Its the fight mechanics that worries me...and Hwoarang's new duds

Kind of reminds me of Bloody Roar, where Fox was in fact male, though I always found that inherently vague. Hopefully this will get a little more explanation.

Link? source? that sort of stuff?

Leo is way to girly looking to be anything but a fit girl in drag. :cmad:

Apparently someone misinterpretted the director, but now that I got a chance to see the video

I didn't see any mention of that. Just says that he is German and his fighting style is based on Hakkyokuken(or Baji Quan if you prefer) which is the same style as Akira in VF and one of the new chicks in DOA4. So now the 3 major 3D fighters have Hakkyokuken characters. However, unlike Akira, Leo is supposed to be beginner friendly.

>GROAN< I can't believe they created ANOTHER Hakkyouku-Ken character. Tekken talks about how it wants to be different from all the other 3d Fighting game franchises (as does DOA) but it continues to create characters along the lines of already established ones. There is a plethora of different Martial Arts in the South East Asian region, from the Philippines and Indonesia, not to mention freestyles indiginous to African countries. Why can't they create more characters like Zafina whom are very distinctive?

I've had many idea's for stories. Here's one

I think the next super powered villain will be Super Heihachi or something. He was trying to combine himself with ogre blood but needed devil gene, what if he conlected the remains of Jinpachi and altered it with his own DNA and then combined himself with the ogre? He'd be a devil ogre man! haha. Anyways here's some pics

And last night I was thinking, what if Jin has control over the Machima Zaibatsu now? That'd be sweet. And maybe have him turn into a super powered combatant as angel/devil Jin?

The only other person to control the Zaibatsu was Kazuya and he got knocked off his high horse after Tekken 2 by Heihachi himself. Don't count on Jin to get comfortable on the Mishima throne especially since the Iron Tiger and his TKD-skilled rival Hwoarang's on his ass.

I am a little worried about the appearance of Leo though. His dressing, looks and voice might hint a change of Protaganists in Tekken 6. I'm worried that T6 might herald the dawn of a new generation as T3 did.

Tekken 3 didn't lose too many of the old guys, and they all came back in some form or another. So long as we don't get another Tekken 4 I'll come away from this a happy bunny.

It's the weapons aspect that worries me.

what was wrong with TK4?

Theres gonna be weapons in this game?

T4 is generally regarded as being a bit crappy. Definately my least favourite of any Tekken. I think maybe they tried a little too hard to branch out, and the game just stopped feeling like Tekken.

At the end of the trailer Bryan Fury pulls out a gun and shoots it, in what looks like an in match sequence. Hopefully it'll all turn out just to be a tease, and it's all in aid of some mini-game or other.

There's no way they will bring in weapons. Brian throws a tank in the Tekken 3 cinematic, he doesn't do that ingame.

Not to mention a T5 Japanese trailer with Kuma dancing with a bunch of Penguins. The Japanese love corny I guess. Eithe that or its one of them "situational" moves like Ayane's "fireball" in DOA2

I dont think Namco would put weapons in this game bc thats one of the things that distinguishes Tekken from its other big fighting franchise, Soul Calibur. Things would change too much if they did

They already have a weapons fighter with Yoshimitsu and they have had characters with projectiles before like Gon in Tekken 3 and I believe Jack had some weird bullet attacks as well. If that shotgun is used in an attack hopefully it is balanced.

Its OFFICIAL: Jin wins Tekken 5 tournament and goes on to be the head of the Zaibatsu only to head the organization in a corporate/physical war against the mysterious G Corporation and helps start World War 3!

I still think Hwoarang whipped him though.

Well not WW3 per se, but damn close. Both the G Corporation and the Mishima Zaibatsu are weapons manufacturers so I think they're going at each other at all fronts including military

Head over to www.tekkenzaibatsu.com for a ton of stuff on Tekken 6.

- A new bullfighter male character.
- Leo is in fact female, not male.
- Characters all have special attacks. Bruce summons chicks. Anna flings her high heels.
- Rage mode for the character when they take a beating.

Not sure what to think of the changes. They seem a little much.

Very much so. These ideas seem way too 2D fighting for Tekken. The game's still in the works so I really don't see hardcore Tekken fans standing up for this. After all, aren't the Tekken unblockables the "special attacks"? Maybe all these are available in a special mode, kinda like how special weapons abilities could only be accessed in Special Versus in SoulCalibur 3.

Leo's a girl? Great, a sure shot difference from Rock Howard. And Miguel looks like an idiot. Still will try him out though.

Hey Avalanche, how's your VF5 treating you? I bumped myself up to Hard mode and am now paying for it!

I don't have myself a PS3 yet. I've been a poor student for the past three years, and I'm currently resting at the bottom of my overdraft without a job, and at the moment, not enough money for food, hehe. The PS3 is off the cards, as is Virtua Fighter 5 for now. :(

Apparantly these projectile attacks in Tekken 6 come as part of customised items. That item needs to be equipped for the character to be able to use the attack. I still don't like it.

I still think Zafina seems like an interesting character, though talk of her having a style similar to Voldo in Soul Calibur is putting me off a bit.

There's a drop down to 12 stages, which doesn't seem like very many, but apparantly some of these stages are linked to one another, which I think is a nice concept.
