Thank You Tim Burton

I’d like to tank Tim for sleepy hallow
A real breast man movie!
Aside from that, I’m not a big fan of his
He produces too much crappy stuff and I hate his 1989 batman so much but the second one I like!

I'd like to thank Tim Burton for not ending up directing a Superman movie.

Thankfully, a REAL fan of the character (Brian Synger) got the greenlight in that project.

And I'd like any of the haters to come up with a movie that's half as good as "Edward Scissorhands", "Big Fish" and"The Nightmare Before Christmas2.

And as for Batman, don't get me started.

So now The Batmobile being a tank is "true to the comics"?

Ra's Al Ghul being a French Ninja is "true to the comics"?

Lucius Fox being the brain behind Batman is "true to the comics"?

Ra's not having Ubu or Talia is "true to the comics"?

Hell, the Waynes killed outside a frickin OPERA HOUSE is "true to the comics"?

mmm...the dumbest thing you can say to a film critic.
A 300 pound man who will never play in the NBA can watch, study, analyze players, follow stats, compare them to players of the past and discern that Michael Jordan is a better player than Freddie Sepulveda.

I'll bet you couldn't draw well enough to draw for Marvel comics.
But even though you don't draw for Marvel, if you said that this:

is better than this:

You'd still be right.

Also, by your logic, the fact that you've never made a big budget Hollywood film means that you're also unqualified to say that Tim Burton has made any good movies.
Yeah...very, very dumb.:down

It’s adaptations of the comic book and Burton had different versions of Batman Nolan has his different versions hell even Schumacher presented his versions that’s why they called adaptations. If you don't like Nolan's Batman don't watch it.

Also I thank Tim Burton for making great two Batman films.

Yes, funny since that was in DKR among other places and Burton drew heavily from that book.

Ra's Al Ghul being a French Ninja is "true to the comics"?

You assume hes french because he played Ducard, doesnt mean he is French as the movie clearly shows.

Lucius Fox being the brain behind Batman is "true to the comics"?

Ive heard this argument from you before and its pretty ridiculous.

Ra's not having Ubu or Talia is "true to the comics"?

WHo says he doesnt?

Hell, the Waynes killed outside a frickin OPERA HOUSE is "true to the comics"?

Due to property rights they couldnt use The Mark of Zorro.

great two Batman films.
No, casting Michael Keaton as Bruce Wayne makes as much sense as casting Tom Hanks as Clark Kent. Some of the worst casting ever.

And the interminable parade scene where we get to watch old Jack shake his booty to a muted Prince song? I had to look away, it was that embarrassing.

The stiff suit is ridiculous, he looks like he's in the sexiest, black body-cast. And the scenes where they tried to be cool are laughable. All of my friends and I still laugh about the little pansy with the fire poker..."You wanna get nuts? Let's get NUTS!" LOL.

But the ultimate affront is the ENDING! OMG. Worst editing on Earth. Your big "climax" should not cure insomnia so efficiently! Terrible.

I thank Burton for Ed Wood and gNAK Gack ACk aCk! though.

He said that b/c you said this:

Evidently, you know how to make a good movie awhile Burton doesn't. That's a pretty dumbass comment, especially since you stated you like some of his movies.

SPidey-Bat understands what it takes as is evident in Waterworld 2 Aquatic Boogaloo.

I don't and I never said I do, whereas Wilhelm did.

No, I said that he got lucky a few times. Kind of like the filmic equivalent of a one-hit-wonder band. "I ran so far away" by Flock of Seagulls is a great song, but I dare you to listen to any of their other songs, or call them a "good band".
Perhaps a better way of saying it would be to say that he doesn't know how to reign in his self-indulgent tendencies for the good of the film as a whole.
Anyway, I'm not going to talk anymore Burton Smack because this is a "thank Burton" thread, but when people say that Batman89 or Planet of the Apes are good, it's hard not to speak up, because not only are they not good, they're atrocious. Peace out.

Another reason that it wasn't a dumb-ass thing to say is that, for instance, I said I love Mars Attacks, but still acknowledged that it's a terrible movie.
I like plenty of terrible movies.

Ever hear of an opinion?

Yes. In Hitler's opinion, the Jews were subhuman scum that deserved only slave labor and death. His opinion was a bad opinion.

We're talking about opinions about movies, in which case there is no good or bad opinion.

Even if someone thinks Alone in the Dark is the best movie ever made?

I'm glad people enjoy Tim Burton. I used to love him. Now he kind of reminds me of Danny Elfman. Once great, now, has-beens.
Like the Simpson's theme? Classic. The Batman one, inTENSE. But I'll be damned if I can hum you a single theme from Spider-Man, and the only memorable thing from Hulk is that minimalist descending 4 note thing.

I'd like to thank Tim Burton for making the best Batman Live action movie to date :)

If one can not articulate one's opinion into a sensible argument, the point of stating one's opinion seems to be nonexistant.

So everything HAS to be ECXACTLY the same in the movie as it is in the comics?
Then, what fun is there in a movie if you have seen it all before on paper?

What I mean is: What is the harm if some facts from the comicbooks are changed for the movie? If they follow things exactly it's kinda uninspired. It's nice to see influences from the comics and all...
but some comic fans are way too sensitive about this stuff.

Well can you blame them. They put in a lot of time and money following these characters for years and they want to see something represenattive of their experience reading the books on screen. Its no different than when people complain about movie remakes.

It's not just fans. Have you ever heard the author of a book have a bloody abortion when they do an adaptation of his work and screw with the facts, details, characterizations, etc.?

But yes, especially with comicbooks, part of the coolness is that as long as you retain a few key iconic elements, there are endless interpretations.

Like with Godzilla...all of these are so dissimilar, but I love it.
