Y'know, I generally don't agree with alot of the criticism that Linkara or Atop The 4th Wall gets lately. I do still really enjoy his reviews. But there is one thing that bothered me about this latest review for Guardian of Gotham #2: Why the hell did he keep bringing up Stephanie Brown's isolation from the New 52? It's not like it really fits in context, because he brought it up as if to say "DC's editorial sucks because they allowed sexualized artwork in this book but they won't allow Stephanie Brown back into the universe."
Which... is a weird dot to connect, given that not only has editorial switched hands many times since the comic he was reviewing came out, but also because Stephanie's exclusion from the main DCU or that idiotic Smallville story has nothing to do with sexualization or crappy artwork. More importantly, Guardian of Gotham's story has literally nothing in it that parallels Stephanie's situation - being that they want to put all focus on Barbara as Batgirl - so again, why bring it up at all? And twice, no less?
Bit of an odd moment that irked me. I get frustration over the Stephanie/Babs thing, and Linkara seems to never hold back when it comes to the New 52 (frankly, I don't blame him in some respects), but it was just random as hell to include in a review about some terrible Elseworlds comic where Selina Kyle and Bruce Wayne switch places.
