Another character ive hated from day 1.BMM said:He tried to rip-off Pyro's line in X2 . . . "Don't ever do that again." Does that count?

reading Storm's origin scene in the X1 script, it makes me so sad...it would be a wonderful scene...ntcrawler said:X3: Can't Stand
and speaking of origin scenes, not every character is cool enough to get one. Personally, I can't understand why they did one for Jean. It didn't add any new material to what was already stated in the dialogue by Xavier in the infirmary scene. If anything, Jean's origin scene as presented not only contradicted the first two movies but even contradicted what we saw in the rest of the X3 film. Leaving that out wouldn't have impacted the story much, only made it more consistent, at least per Penn and Kinberg's view. If that is their view. Cause now I'm not sure any more. THen again, those guys and their opinions seem to shift with the prevailing wind. If fans love it, they take credit. If fans hate it, they're quick to shift the blame and insist they TRIED making it the way fans wanted it. What gives?
gambitfire said:Yes but i still don't put it past her that the dialogue written with the argument against the cure was not that bad it was mediocre at most IMO yet she still did not manage to capture the soul essence of Storm while speaking them....NO I DON'T MEAN A DAM ACCENT, Storm has the wiseness and Strength to her when she speaks it's presume it would be in her tone of voice (Since this is a comic book it's presumed) and Halle just didn't do it for me, and even if she had been written better i don't think Halle can potray a strong storm. She comes off as too weak and helpless too me.
Goddessreicho said:I think the bold proves my point. That is your opinon. If given an once of drama with purpose, Halle can pull through very well. Losing Isaiah, Dorthy Dandrige, Their eyes were watching God, anything but the sex scene in Monster's Ball, and (most prolly) the upcoming Thing's We Lost in the Fire, the scene with Nightcrawler, and that Spike Lee movie I can't remember, all prove that the woman can act.
IT DEPENDS ON THE SCRIPT. Which leaves us back to square one.

With the nothing that they turned Storm into, in another sequl, Halle actually is the right person to show that Storm has had enough. Show her leading differently than Scott, show her bond with Kitty (that was cut from X3), show her becoming an actual person.
I think that the other characters, besides Iceman, can be shown to come out of thier shells too. Like Colossus. Rogue gave up her claim to fame because she was to horny to think about anything but herself. Iceman already got his story told. But let's see some inner devolpment from people who were trampled in the studio's haste to tell all about Wolverine and his problem getting what he wants, which would be Jean. And that's the only reason why she was so prominate in the series not because she was an X-man.

Kevin Roegele said:Zak Penn speaks briefly in the new issue of Total Film.
"The studio didn't want to do Pheonix, period. And I'm talking five months before filming began, they were like, "No, no, no, we're not going to do Pheonix, we're doing Magneto versus the X-Men." We felt confident we would win the fight. We lost, to be quite frank. If you see the first half of the movie, we won every fight, and if you see the second half, we did not win every fight.....that was not our choice and that was not the way it was written."
