The 2007 Grammys

So they won Best Album, Best Record, AND Best Song of the Year?

How is that an accurate reflection of the year in music? Oh, wait. It isn't.

I seriously think their anti-Bush stances are what won them the award (I'm anti-Bush myself...but that would still be a sh***y reason to win an award that is suppose to showcase musical talent).

I like the Dixe Chicks but I can't think for the life of me why they did so well.

Robin is hella cute. I bet she gets a record deal out of this.

i was surprised, she sang a lot better than i thought she was going to, and she seemed very comfortable on stage, despite all the bigwigs and legends in the crowd, so good job on her part

Easily one of the highlights of the night. I felt almost proud to see her go up there, all the nerves in the world and millions of people watching you, and deliver a really strong performance. At times she did look like someone who just won a contest to get up there and sing, but she nailed it vocally and held her own.

Bravo.

i mised it, how were the police?

She did her thang, that's for sure. She's definitely got the voice, all we need is to hear one of her own songs, and see what comes of it.

OT: if Lupe Fiasco had to lose in the Best Rap Album category, I would have preferred it lose to The Roots than Ludacris. Not that Release Therapy was bad, but of the nominees, Lupe's album was the best. If anything, I figured T.I. would have been a lock for the award. King was one of the more high profile rap releases compared to the other nominees.

yeah no way Ludacris deserved to win best rap album this year :cmad:

Corinne Bailey Rae winning nothing just negates the entire show for me.

John Mayer is a ***, fake rocker. Winning the best pop album award, but at the time being nominated for best rock album? Cmon.

I was glad to see the Chili Peppers clean up with 3 awards!

But I was pretty let down that the liberal propaganda machine STOLE album of the year from them. :(

18 songs, 2 discs, $17, and a dynamite tour...it was their year.

But I'll give the DickChicks their props, they perform LIVE with anyone!

And Milli Vanilli beat out Soul II Soul for best new artist in '89. And we know how that travesty turned out. The Grammy Awards stink on ice.

It's a peer award.....not based on record sales. Nobody's buying the Dixie Chicks. This was "protest" vote by the libs in the music industry at Bush. This was a political win.....that's all. Trying to lend some legitamacy to their cause.

i think best new artist got it right with Carrie Underwood. she had one of the best selling albums of the year and a successful solo tour and spots with Kenny Chesney and Brad Paisley

if she didn't win it, i wanted Bailey Rae to win, but I think Underwood deserved the win.

if both of them lost to Blunt, i think i wouldve thrown the remote thru my tv screen

I'm no fan of the Dixie Chicks but the main broad in the middle can sing like whoa. Don't expect those kinda vocals from a country girl.

But the highlight for me was without a doubt JT and Robin. She's amazing. He's the man. It worked. He got so screwed by Mayer though. Not that I don't like him, but keep him in his Rock categories where he belongs.

anyone know where to find the JT/Robin performance? clip or something.

Yeah, John Mayer winning over Timberlake was just, whuh?!? Mind you, JT's album could have been better, but if he had to lose, did John Mayer really have the bettere album?!?
