The 2012 South Carolina Primary

YOUR VOTE FOR PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE?

GINGRICH 31.58% (115,715 votes)

PAUL 35.99% (131,869 votes)

ROMNEY 19.72% (72,240 votes)

SANTORUM 12.7% (46,538 votes)

Total Votes: 366,362

This is the results so far from the >>> Drudge Report Poll. Look at how many have voted and that poll is still open. This is very similar to what I meant, I hope happen tonight in an earlier post.

Go Paul!

:up::up::up:

You are full of assumptions, you have no proof, what so ever, that indicate that; just your hopeful feeling. In a debate with Gingrich, where Obama will be forced to defend his record, will remind Independents/Moderates just why they abandon him, Obama, in the first place.

While it's going to be very tough for Obama to defend his record, the sorta racist things that Gingrich says isn't going to fly with independents and moderates. Gingrich's rather repugnant past is going to bite him in the ass.

Independents and moderates have abandoned Obama for sure, but they're still waiting to see who the GOP candidate is. If it's someone that they'll tolerate like Mitt Romney, they'll flock to him. But if it's someone like Newt Gingrich, most of them will go back to Obama.

Nope...independents will NOT vote for Gingrich. Proof? Look at how sad Gingrich has finished in the last two primaries. The only one he is doing any good in is the right wing extreme South Carolina crowd.

To be fair, there's some other Poll that's open and I've voted like 5 times in it on my phone. 5 times for dat Paul 2012.

Exit polling numbers show Gingrich with a commanding lead followed by Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum, and Ron Paul in last.

God the people of SC are stupid.

39-33 gingrich v romney- on economy
48-39 gingrich v romney- think can beat O

Excel, SC is not stupid because they see things much different from you. Get over yourself, and be more respectful of other voters POV.

this will be an embarrassing night for networks; i bet romney wins when final votes counted.

The only good thing is that it looks like Gingrich has won. Lets drag this one out folks.

no, anybody thinking gingrich has a better shot at beating obama then romney is stupid, because it defies all possible forms of logic and every poll in existence.

I don't know how they can call it immediately after the polls closed...given precincts have to travel and take their results to the county seat for reporting.

Agreed. Thinking Gingrich is better than Romney with regards to the economy, values, foreign policy, etc. is understandable in that it mostly relies on personal views. But thinking he has a better shot at beating Obama than Romney just flies in the face of logic.

Of course this is the same state that fired on Fort Sumter thinking it could win a war against an enemy with four times the free population and ten times the industrial capacity, so I don't expect much.

Excel, you are a prime example just how fearful those Left of center are of Gingrich. So your displeasure is understandable...what you need to understand, this primary is mostly for those Right of center; so get over it. They don't see thing like you do. This is not a Democratic Primary....what did you expect in a more Conservative State? NH.

Fearful? I think most people left of center would love to see Gingrich win the nomination.

That's the lip service delivered, but many seem to be honestly upset that Obama opponent in the General Election might be Gingrich. If those Left of Center who say they are really not afraid of Gingrich, many of you would be jubilant. So tell yourself what ever makes you feel good about The Republican Primary, but Democrat are fearful of Gingrich....it shows.

I assume they are going off exit polling, which means Gingrich must have had a big lead

The same argument was made by Republicans who mistaked Democratic laughter at Sarah Palin as fear 4 years ago. Make no mistake, Obama's staff does not fear Gingrich. I know I don't. I was hoping for Gingrich to win tonight to knock a peg off of Romney. Honestly, I believe Gingrich has the least shot in the GE even more so than Paul or Santorum.

It is moderate Republicans and independents that are fearful of Gingrich. The Democrats are celebrating tonight.

Well, They are calling it for Santorum to finish in third; meaning, Paul will finish in fourth. So on to Florida.

Exactly. I can't imagine this guy appealing to many independents. He is a gaffe machine. His baggage is tremendous. All you have to do is look at his quotes to have all the firepower you need against this guy. He would have no shot at courting Hispanic voters, all you would have to do is pull out his quote calling spanish the language of the Ghettos and his terrible "apology" afterward.

He is a gaffe machine.

I don't think Gingrich is a gaffe machine, I think he is brilliant in the fact he knows how to appeal to the crowd that likes him(many times saying stuff that pisses off others). As I said his rhetoric is perfect for a Republican primary.

Actually considering that he's one of the more passionate candidates towards Latinos, I can actually see Gingrich doing better with them than the other candidates would.

That said, it's not like the GOP is going to win the majority of the Latino vote anyways.
