The 2012 South Carolina Primary

Well, They are calling it for Santorum to finish in third; meaning, Paul will finish in fourth. So on to Florida.

5.8% reported? Man, MSM much be psychic.

Paul won't do much better in Florida, he's not even trying there. Just gonna do the two debates basically.

Nevada and Minnesota he should do much better in.

Actually considering that he's one of the more passionate candidates towards Latinos, I can actually see Gingrich doing better with them than the other candidates would.

That said, it's not like the GOP is going to win the majority of the Latino vote anyways.

Not necessarily. The Hispanic community in general in polls have not been satisfied with Obama. His significant increases in deportation and failure to deal with any major bills (i.e. the Dream Act) leaves him as one of the most vulnerable Democratic presidents to the Latino vote in history.

What Newt offers policy wise is minimal. However, any inroads he could have made with his policy are automatically offset with his years of incendiary comments against Hispanics that can and will be used against him if needed.

Florida is going to be interesting. This will hopefully add to momentum for Gingrich for Florida. Ron Paul's name will go a bit under the radar (is that even possible?) during the next week.

etm, you may be right, and I fear Paul is starting to lose steam. Florida is a moderate state, so I still hope Paul can mount some showing there...certainly better than fourth.

Gingrich's shtick is to mock and bash the media in front of them (when in doubt). It's admittedly a good diversionary and reframing technique, whereas Romney is incapable of shifting frame authoritatively. Romney can divert but does in a plastic and weasel way. I mentioned it before and say it again, Romney can't reframe conversations, and this is his weakness.

Ultimately, I think Romney has the higher IQ of the two. Gingrich is just a better speaker.

Any chance of getting the nomination or getting quite a few delegates is out the window if Paul finishes in 4th. He really needs 2nd or 3rd in Florida. Or a miracle win.

I read Paul has now a 4th tv ad in Nevada and his first tv ad in Minnesota.

It's not that they're psychic it's that they're looking at all sorts of data. The polls before the South Carolina primary had Paul in fourth. The exit polling, people who actually voted, showed Paul in fourth. The results coming in, show Paul coming in fourth. Various other forms of data coming out showed Paul, coming in fourth, not even coming close enough to the others to get into a better position.

When everything shows Paul in fourth, it's pretty safe to project that he will come in fourth.

For comedy value, I will only report on the votes of the Gary Johnson.

Now at 31 votes. With 12.8% reporting. Impressive.

Oh, that GJ closing in at 44 votes. 18.4% reporting.

On that note, this is gonna be over before 10pm?

relative to his other expenditures, I doubt he will mount anything serious there

tall trees father high winds lets see if newt can withstand

I don't think anyone is picking Gingrich to win Florida....the thing is Romney can't lose it. Florida is a moderate state that a Massachusetts Moderate should win.

MODOK wins the South Carolina primary.

I predicted Gingrich would stay post South Carolina, though didn't think he would win. Was hoping Santorum would drop out.

gingrich lead in sc AND Fla fairly big until January...Romney lead mightbe in numbers but i dont think its solid; the voters are maluable.

romney does HAVE to win though.

Well, three out of the four remaining candidates have won a primary....I sure wish Paul can miraculously win Florida.

Go Paul!

is santorum about to concede...?

He does not have a sense of time, and no disrespect, but every time he speaks, I'm just waiting for George, Elaine, and Cosmos to run out in a big laugh.
