You Only Live Twice might’ve been only 5 years after Dr. No, but Connery aged another decade. 1960s aging.
It’s funny. I love YOLT to death. It’s probably a top 10 Bond film for me because it is so bonkers.

But it is also so disgusting due to the racism and cringey due to Connery looking so flipping old in it. And Connery in Asian face looks absolutely foolish. (And so wrong.)

Roald Dahl at his most unhingedness.

I would rather see Brosnan star in an adaptation of Mark Millar's king of spies comic. The lead character was pretty much modeled on Brosnan

I have a feeling they may cast a younger actor like Louis Partridge.

Boyish young Bond just feels wrong to me. Bond being a slightly jaded guy that's been through some rough stuff in the Navy/espionage world feels like a better fit for atleast a 30 year old.
Yeah, 30 sounds like a good age for a "younger" Bond. Young and fit. But also old enough to carry himself with the confidence of an experienced man of the world, which is what people expect from James Bond.

Honestly, Connery didn't age that much by You Only Live Twice. He was just fat and bored, which made him seem older than he was.

It was by Diamonds are Forever when the aging kicked into overdrive. It was only 9 years after Dr. No and Connery was just barely 40 there:

Then there was Never Say Never Again a decade after that where Connery was only 52:
It gets really crazy when you realize he was the same age there as Brosnan and Craig when they released their final Bond films.

The best thing Connery ever did was accept being bald and grow some facial hair. Revitalized his career late 80s onwards. How much better he looked in Untouchables vs Never Say Never Again.
It really was a remarkable difference.

Young-looking version of an old guy in The Untouchables vs. an old-looking version of a young guy in Never Say Never Again.

He was wearing a hairpiece from the get-go, in Dr. No. Dude had to have started balding in his early 20’s.
I think he was as young as 17 when he started experiencing what they call male pattern baldness. Author Dean Koontz suffered the same thing and underwent hair transplant in late 90's and has been quite odd looking since. I'm glad Connery never did that kind of thing

Ugh yeah Dean Koontz looked fine bald. Then he did that and just looked… uhhh strange.

Watching the Icons Unearthed series on 007, and they’ve gotten to Lazenby.

Trying to imagine the internet reaction today if the new Bond was a model with no acting experience.

The best Bond movie has the worst Bond actor.

Even then, Lazenby brought a physicality to Bond and the fight scenes that were actually ahead of their time. A lot of that movie was ahead of its time, quite honestly.

And then Lazenby decides to just dip after one movie, before his has even premiered, to the chagrin of everyone involved??

What a wild show of stuff that absolutely wouldn’t happen today.
