The All New State Your Opinion on a DC Character Thread

I love that book. I'm fairly certain it was the first Wonder Woman comic I ever bought (not counting Justice League stuff). It's a great read, put's the lead through the emotional ringer, and I do get some satisfaction seeing Batman going up against a superhuman and getting his ass kicked. :o

Wonder Woman kicking Bruce's ass was rather pleasing to watch

Especially as this was at a time when Bruce was a total dbag so seeing him get slapped around made me :)

It's more of a fanboy thing for me. I hate Batman fanboys who like him because he's the best at everything, much like how I hate Hulk fanboys who like him for being the strongest one their is. Those aren't what make the characters interesting or good and when writers harp on that stuff it tends to make things stupid. So I like it when Bruce gets curb stomped by someone who should be able to break him like a twig.

Y'know, every once in a while.

I totally hate that guy. Which I believe is kind of the point so I guess he's awesome.

I haven't read Morrison's Batman. Don't get me wrong, I love the guy but, with the exception of his JLA run, I don't think his particular brand of off-the-wall insanity fits pre-established iconic characters like Bats.
Like, from what I know of his Bat-work (Creating that little **** Damian Wayne, Bruce shooting Darkseid, bouncing through time, outing himself as Batman's benefactor, forming Batman Inc. etc, etc.) I just HATE it. Those ideas just don't gel with my idea of the character or his world at all.
Basically, when GM announces a new book featuring his own characters (or characters so obsure they may as well be his own) it's probably gonna make for great comics, but when he signs up to an iconic character, I get nervous.
I'm sure this is all very unpopular and everything but that's just how I feel...

He's pretty much a complete dbag with no redeeming features

Though he knows how to party. That looks like my idea of a fun time :awesome:

You know, I have never been a fan of his Bruce Wayne Batman, and thought Final Crisis turned out to be a mess, but I loved his Dick Grayson Batman in Batman and Robin. For some reason, I just don't think he does a good Bruce.

The way he wrote Dick Grayson was so much fun to read

I loved his Batman and Robin stories with him

Indeed

I have heard great things about the Grayson era. Maybe, when Morrisn's all wrapped up I'll give it a try.
And yeah, I agree about Final Crisis. There are few other stories out there I have such a deep, passionate hatred for.

For me, I think Secret War (not Secret Wars) might be the one story that made me want to shoot my own face off after I read it.

Nick Fury had been using heroes in the Marvel U as sleeper agents against their knowledge, whatshername chick from Latveria, Nick went into hiding...

I don't really like or care about Dr. Hurt. He doesn't seem very interesting to me, he's just kind of generally evil. He kind of seems like Hugo Strange, just boring-er.

I don't know, he's a pretty messed up dude. Anyway, movin' on

Now does this guy know how to party or what???

AKA that chick that was Lex's Bodyguard in Superman the Animated series.

Apparently in the comics she's an Amazon or something. :o

He's utterly despicable and extremely horrifying. Everytime this guy is shown I always get a creeping sense of terror, Dr.Hurt is one of the few villains that actually makes me afraid for Bruce Wayne and his children.
Basically he's the closest thing to the devil if he were a comic book character, and probably the best modern villain in the comics medium to appear in the last 5 years. In short I love the satanist ****er.
Mercy is great in the sense that she's a nice foil to Lex in the same sense that Harley is for Joker. It's good seeing spunky gals kicking ass. So she gets a  from me.

Mercy's cool. She's essentially Lex's Harley Quinn. Most of my experience with her is from the animated stuff, though. Wasn't she in No Man's Land? Eh, in any case, she needs to turn up in comics more.

*Mercy Mercy Me! I love some Mercy! A hot babe in a chauffeur outfit showing leg driving you around doing dirty deeds to you!!.. oops i mean "FOR!" ( my hand slipped):cwink: That's my kinda babe!! .. it's always the bad ones!!

* see Marvin Gaye

I dig Mercy Graves.

She's hawt, bad ass and there is an impressive amount of lesbian fanart of her out there

I approve of all of this

She was pretty fun in 52 as well

Yep her and Mercy were revealed to be Amazons 'Nubsy :)

You mean Hope.

Probably the Banna Migdall or whatever the f**k their name is.

I did indeed mean Hope my mistake :)

Yep they probably were Bana Mighdall Amazons as those were the ones who left Themyscira

And apart from Grace and Artemis most of them are kind of jerks really :o
