The All New State Your Opinion on a DC Character Thread

She's an Amazon now. Great. F&*^ DC, man!

Anyway, LOVE Mercy Graves. She should have been translated into comics as soon as she took off in animation.

I like Mercy in the cartoon a lot. Mercy in the comics is meh, not a whole lot of personality. Not sure why they made her an Amazon (besides the obvious of wanting to give Lex an enforce/bodyguard who's at least strong enough to take a punch from Superman and hit back). I much prefer the backstory in the cartoon, where she was a street urchin who Lex gave a job and took care of and basically took on the role of her father, which makes her hyper-loyal to him.

Movin' on.

Job 1 when you're Luthor's bodyguard? Make sure nobody walks in on Lex wakin' it to pictures of dead Superman. :o

Hell, at LEAST they could have made her a robot, if they wanted her to be a better defense for Lex. Not only to tie into YJ, but also it echos a little bit to his Lois-bot.

That Lex and his robot ladies :o

That makes it slightly creepy that Justice League revealed they were getting it on :ninja:

Obsidian Age was a pretty fab story really. I loved the replacement JLA that took over for the originals while they were back in time as well :)

They're villains, man, creepy is what they do.

That said, I would have been pretty upset if The Mayor and Faith had been hooking up, and they basically had the same relationship. But hey, comics, continuity doesn't REALLY matter.

Why would you make me picture the Mayor and Faith together like that :csad:

Hey man, I can't make you do anything.

Besides, Faith already generated that image with her off color sense of humor in Dopplegangland. :o

Yeah, The Obsidian Age started quite strong but ****, that thing just went on forever! On and and on and on... and then on some more.

I really like Joe Kelly and his JLA run had a lot of great ideas but this story felt a little bit like he was trying to hard to write a "Legendary JLA story" and because of that it comes across a little self-conscious...

Oh! Plus, what happened to Plastic Man at the end was dumb as ****.

Eh it was okay. Not one of my favorite "arch"( hehe de triumph.. sorry I saw a famous french landnark pun there!) And as stated before that ^&*( with Plas was &*(((((* BULL$%^^!Man! Don't mess with PLas baby!that's my man!

I don't see what the fuss is about Plas in that story. We find out that he's effin' unkillable. Spent 3000 years in tiny pieces at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean. That's bad ass. :o

Yeah, if I'm gonna go out, I'd wanna get to second base with Wonder Woman first as well.

The Lasso of Truth

Unbreakable rope of magic gold that forces you to tell the truth. I can dig that. It is easily one of the most useful items in comicdom.

Wonder Woman and her magical bondage gear is a thing I approve of

Its a pretty neat idea and I liked how it was used in the first Perez story when she used it to convince Ares his plan was crazy

ohhhhhhh yeah ROPE!!! You never go wrong with rope do you know long it took me to learn a sailor hitch so that chicks couldn't get lose uh never mind . ...I think it's an awesome device. The truth is a very dangerous weapon in the right or hehe wrong hands!

Cause he should have had a bigger part in the story if you ask me

Well he had a big part in the next one. He went Godzilla and beat up an insane Martian manhunter on fire. So, you know, get over it and s**t. :o

No! Never. Did we get over it when the Germans bomb pearl harbor! No! It's over when we say it's over! Hehe

(don't know if this is the right thread to talk about the New 52 in general. Couldn't find one)
I like many of the New 52 comics I have read. But something has been bugging me since the relaunch of the New 52. Does it feel to anyone else like this isn't DC comic's regular DC universe but rather one of their alternate realities? Like its a parallel world where Superman and Lois never married, Flash and Iris aren't together and there is no Wally West, The JLA has always been Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, GL, Aquaman, and Cyborg, and never included anyone else including Martian Manhunter? I got to thinking about this after the Earth 2 comic.
I mean they are fun stories but it doesn't seem like the regular DCU, maybe after a few years it will.

As story arcs go, I'd give it 6/10. It was big on imagination and big on ambition, but the execution throughout just didn't do it for me.

It was probably the last good story before the slow and painful demise of the Justice League title(s) in general, however.

My sister had a ww pijama when she was tiny.

I played with the lasso all the time, like it was Indy's whip ha!

Cool weapon, somewhat an odd choice coming from a amazon and not a cowboy (cowgirl?).

It is related to the creator of WW designing the polygraph and his S&M tendencies rigth?
