Yes, Kraven was already used. He was an assassin for the Russian mob, then hired by Silvermane to hunt Spider-Man. He managed to drug Spidey with a poison dart and take him to Silvermane, keeping his web-shooters for trophies. Spidey eventually escaped, found Kraven the next day, and KO'ed him to take his web-shooters back. He was then taken to Ryker's Island, then eventually broken out by the Master Planner (Doctor Octopus) along with Electro, Vulture, Rhino, and Sandman, who will become the Sinister Six in Season 2.
