Actually I’d argue it makes his job a little easier since the failure makes the justification for a clean slate all the more necessary. For example, If the Flash had been a bonafide hit I’d argue it would inevitably complicate matters for Gunn’s reboot at some point because I do think they might’ve forced Gunn to retrofit his plans to accommodate Ezra as the DCU Flash or something and keep more things from the old DCU than he was willing to. And it’s really for the best that Gunn does a hard reset on this whole franchise, and get rid of a lot of this baggage.Gunn has an uphill battle and having all these DC movies bomb is not making his job any easier. Is gonna take a lot of effort to change people's minds that what's coming is "something different".
I have faith in his Superman take, but everything else? I wouldn't want to be in his shoes.
Point taken! Although I don't know why Gunn praised this movie so damn hard if that was the case. He obviously wanted it to be a hit.Actually I’d argue it makes his job a little easier since the failure makes the justification for a clean slate all the more necessary. Can you elaborate? Because I honestly do not know what you could be talking about.I think we're going to be find out that a lot of what people think was CGI...wasn't.
Some of the clickbait sites are in for a surprise.
B&R screwed the pooch big time, but Batman Forever was a huge success at the time, at least financially. This a friendly reminder that you don't need to make excuses when a bad movie you like bombs critically and financially. It's okay to admit you enjoyed a bad movie that others despised. Heck, I still enjoy Batman Forever and Batman & Robin and I'm well aware of those movies shortcomings.
Also, told you so.![]()
If it's shot so **** it looks that CGI I'd argue that's even worse.I think we're going to be find out that a lot of what people think was CGI...wasn't.

Appreciate itPLEASE DONT POST SPOILERS HERE, EVEN LITTLE ONES.

Those were some really ugly, real babies then

The Flash movie seemed destined to fail because quite Frankly it was supposed to come out in 2018, had multiple director changes, and three different DC heads controlling it. I know fans don’t all watch the CW Flash but I don’t see the difference between Ezra and Grant’s Flash. The CW Flash did everything that the Flash movie presented over the years it was on air. Maybe instead of Zod they should have went with the Thomas and Martha Wayne route. It would have at least been something the GA had not seen before.
Yeah any of your selections for the villains. I see people are blasting Andy but I think he took one for the WB team. This movie went through multiple directors and several regime changes. With Ezra going nuts after the movie was almost completed it the movie was doomed. Think about it, the basis of the movie was an old Batman from 89 and a new Spanish Super Girl, along with Ezra who has tons of issues.I actually think that since this was a different timeline, maybe they should have just chosen a different invading force, say, Darkseid and the forces of Apokolips, or White Martians or Dominators or...something. However, when this was being made, there were probably still plans for Darkseid in some capacity.
Maybe, although I wouldn’t want White Martians wasted here - save them for a JL sequel if we ever get there.I actually think that since this was a different timeline, maybe they should have just chosen a different invading force, say, Darkseid and the forces of Apokolips, or White Martians or Dominators or...something. Yeah, if this had been as good as WB were making out and made over a billion, there could be pressure on Gunn to change his plans. I don’t think it outright bombing is a good thing either though.Actually I’d argue it makes his job a little easier since the failure makes the justification for a clean slate all the more necessary. It's wild to think that this thing was in development as far back as Season 1 of the Flash TV series.

A Flash movie has been in various stages of development and development hell since before Season 1 of the original Sci-Fi Flash TV series. I think the villain was an alien shape shifter in the original version.
Yeah, that's true.
Goyer also had a version with Wally West in the mid 00s as well .
Yeah this site has a good rundown of its history.Wasn't Ryan Reynolds in discussions for Wally? Man, that takes me back.
