The All Things Flash Thread. - Part 2

Absolutely. I remember some posts (not sure if it was here) doubting his presence would make much difference, that his time in the suit was too long ago. Always thought those people were severely underestimating his draw.

this was me. i admit i was one of those people questioning whether keaton's batman was still a box office draw.

this is me now:

I think WB has done a pretty great job with marketing so far, but it's a shame it didn't get an EMPIRE or TOTAL FILM magazine cover and that it won't feature the stars on the talk show circuit due to the strike.

I still don't think I've seen an official interview (in print or on camera) from Keaton about his work in this movie. Will he even do a press junket or attend a possible premiere or is he ensuring some distance with still reaping the rewards?

I definitely think Keaton’s return is playing a role, but it’s also possible that The Flash has a bigger fan base than I was aware of. As far as I know Flash will be the first speedster to get their own movie.

He might not be doing press. I did find it odd that he wasn’t interviewed in that behind the scenes clip from last week.

i feel flash is quite popular.

he might not be up there with the likes of batman, superman, or spiderman, but he's a close second to them.

Hearing VFX still look rough, lol. They've had more time with this film to perfect than any movie other than Boyhood in the history of film...

How are they still behind?

Uh not from where I sat...and shoddy effects annoy me greatly.

Edit: if this is shoddy then every cbm since TDKR has been shoddy. This looked better than most of the films people around here rave about.

Either they are sticklers or they just didn't like the way some things (like the speed force) were represented.

watching the new trailer that just came out today, the part where batfleck says "I need you here now, Barry!" sounds so much like kevin conroy's batman.

I unfortunately saw a spoiler that Keaton dies in the big battle at the end. IF that is the way it ends for Keaton in the film, it might affect my enjoyment majorly. I get that he was supposed to be revived in the original plans and hang around for a few films.

BUT, if it's now... oh he dies in battle, wrap it up, here's a tease for the new DCU Batman, it definitely will not work for me.

Technically, his death is undone by Barry fixing the universe. The only difference now is we don't get visual confirmation, but on a story level, it's the only way that Barry can ultimately win, to undo what he did. So theoretically, Barry untangles the timelines and Burton's universe goes back to the way it was.

Personally, I can dig a bittersweet ending. He may die, but he died fighting to save the planet. That's how a true hero goes out.

That is how I saw it as well.

I think everything reset back to where it was, but there is going to obvious mess ups and changes we just arent privy to yet so anything is possible. And even if he is "dead" it sort of reminds me of TDKR where he was really dead when he was "done" and his return gave him a chance to truly go out the way Batman deserves too. What happens after is icing on the cake

I aint watchin' no more trailers after that second one that dropped a few weeks ago. I'm going dark until the movie hits. I'm even muting certain Youtube channels i'm subscribed to until then cuz i know they're gonna spoil s*** before the movie drops :funny:
Don’t even look at Flash related YouTube comment sections.

One interesting thing about the final trailer was >!Kara saying “are you ready?”and that’s because it wasn’t in the cut of the movie I saw at the screening I went to the other day.

If I had to take a guess

That shot of Kara is from the film's original ending where Kara reappears in the new timeline.

It wouldn't be the first time that Warner Bros has used a deleted scene when promoting a film (e.g., Justice League).

Some movie insiders seem to think final cut of the movie is not just cameos and post credits? Or am I seeing that wrong. Wonder if they have cobbled up a tease for DCU somehow unlikely as it is.

Again though I really do wish this was the last DCEU movie or even Blue Beetle. Would have been better than aquman 2(which is hopefully less of a mess than rumoured).

I will admit, that was one I did not see coming so I would suggest no one read the article.

And there is definitely room dor more to be in the film and as I said, they go out of their way to tell you this is not the final version of the film.
