Make a great Spider-Man film and that will solve half your problems.

Hans't been done since 04'. Webb's got one last chance at redemption with TASM 3. Let's see if he can kill two birds with one stone and redeem the symbiote. Still think it's their best shot to get people back in the theatres one last time.
Sony's making a big mistake if Webb gets a third chance to get it right. I have to agree with I See Spidey on this. Sony should fire Webb and Arad and transition Drew Goddard from Sinister Six to TASM3.

Why do you think that is?
I don't see how the sym would be the best shot to get butts back in the seats when they just did that story in SM3. Many complaints are the repetitive unoriginal ideas thats already been done in this franchise. The symbiote would be retelling of a story thats already been done.
Exactly. The only way I see that being a problem is if the story we got back in 2006 was any good. It wasn't, hence the retelling. Give it justice.
The problem is not that u couldn't do a better story but you are gonna have to sell the general audience on seeing black suited spider in trailers again. It wouldn't take much to do a better story than 2007 but you have to really sell the idea that its not a retread. Thats difficult to do. Spidey goes dark again and gains special abilities? They better make a better and bigger splash than that.
Why not? They sold the origin story to the public again? Peter Parker, an outcast high school science wiz student get's bitten by a spider and gets super powers. His uncle dies when he could have prevented it had only he'd known what responsibility was with those great powers.
Does the symbiote have to come on a random meteor in central park and latch on to his backpack? No. You get what I'm trying to say though, right?
Webb's the pilot for this trip. Right now, the plane is decreasing in altitude and is in line to crash. Do we teleport a brand new pilot in his place to try and land the plane safely? Will he be able to figure out the problem he didn't create? Will that create more problems? Or do we hope to God Webb can figure out what caused the altitude drop and get the plane back on a safe course?
I'm all about analogies. Passengers get to make the call, we're all the passengers as die hard Spidey fans. What would YOU do?
Why do you think that is?
In all honesty, there needs to be a 10 year wait before they do anything else with the character. I know that won't happen, because Sony would lose the rights.
I'm just telling you if there's not a prolonged period before another Spider-man film, the public will grow more disinterested.

The damage is done. It's over for this character as a big time draw. I could care less if I ever see this character on screen again. That's the legacy these last three films have created for me.
Ummm....No. I don't believe they really sold many on the idea of seeing the origin again. That's been stated by many and it made the least amount of money as a result. It had been done before. People were eager to see black suited Spidey in SM3. I understand what you are saying about doing a better story it just doesn't change my opinion about them doing it again.
The general audience hasn't gotten anything new and worthwhile with this franchise anymore. Thats part of the problem. Black suited spidey isn't gonna generate overwhelming new interests when it was recently done. And lead up to a villain they already saw.
They sold $750M worth of people worldwide on the origin, your argument is invalid.
750 mil is a fairly steep drop between BO grosses, and does show a significant diminished return. So, it isn't an invalid argument. They lost a fair share of the audience for the series, and TASM2 is showing it possibly dropped even more (or remained about the same).
From one origin to another they still got people in the seats. 3/4 a billion is nothing to joke about. Do you think if they introduced the symbiote that there wouldn't be any interest? If anything, people want to see that storyline given justice after the massacred it in SM3.
