TASM1 played like the first transformers film did in the us but with tdkr at the end of the month it suffered a bit.Different scenario this go round it opens the summer its a sequel and most of its competition in may are reestablishing the brands.United states gross will go up and overseas its gonna be massive.I just hope Sony moves TASM3 to april they need to make that move asap to many superhero films in may for 2016.

The only two movies I thought were good were X2 and First Class.

I do think the hype is high but not has high has spider man 3's because spider man 3 came after the great spider man 2 where the amazing spider man 2 like spider man 3 looks great form the previews but is coming after the amazing spider man witch was recived a lot worse the spider man 2 was.

^ True. I think part of SM3's hype was since SM2 ended on such a high note, people wanted to see what came afterwards/what the finale was going to be. So not the exact same hype for TASM2 but..

Let's also not forget that the inclusion of the symbiote and Venom gave people a lot of hype for SM3.

I don't have a prediction on what opening weekend numbers will be like, but I can see this movie doing pretty well if the action delivers what it promises. Personally, I think the effects shown in the trailers look pretty bad, but when I saw the final trailer in 3D last week for Captain America, the effects looked pretty cool. That's rare compliment coming from me, because I'm no fan of 3D. The movie might end up being a must-see in 3D for the general audience, which equals money.

Also, the success of this film depends on the success of the other films coming out in May. If Godzilla, X-Men, and Maleficent are really good, that might hurt ASM2's domestic box office numbers.

I think the success of all the big May releases are up in the air at this point. I think one of the films is going to be a flop, but I don't know which, honestly. I don't think it will be Spidey, unless the reviews take a sharp, sharp turn for the worse.

Wow. BoxOffice.com confident in a $112M OW and total of $265M Domestic.

My predictions are (roughly)

OW : $100M
DOMESTIC : $300M
FOREIGN :$500M

With TWS opening with $95, I hope Spidey can open with at least a 100.

A 95 million opening weekend would be weak for spider-man.

Even if Boxoffice.com predition of 113 Million opening weekend and 265 Domestic gross happens that means the sequel hasn't improved much on first film since
it had a gross of 262 million back In 2012.
