I don't recall Batman Begins being poorly critically received, and even if so, it's still currently higher than TASM lol.

Currently higher among all critics, but it wasn't always the case. It has an average rating of 6.8 and a score of 63% among top critics, it was actually lower back then. If we are talking the major critics, The Amazing Spider-Man actually has a bigger score than Batman Begins if we are talking about major critics, since TASM has an average rating of 6.9 and a 78% score.

As you probably know, top critics were a lot more important back in 2005 than they are right now. The score for Batman Begins only got where it is now through the years, especially after the "all critics" became more and more important with new reviews counted through the years and most of all, after The Dark Knight's release, Batman Begins started to get more and more the acknowledgment that it always deserved.

I can see the score for TASM going a little bit higher through the years.

At :39 in the b-roll, you can see
what looks to be a Ravencroft employee wearing Electro's containment suit.

I'm wondering what villain will be featured in TASM 3?

It wasn't. I was present and correct here when BB was released following all the reactions to it. It was the box office that didn't go huge for BB. BB was very well received critically when it was released. Much more than TASM.

Anyway Casino Royale is the highest rated reboot movie critically. Then BB.

It was. Not even up for debate, your memory is clearly betraying you, since there is factual evidence to prove that it was the other way around. That is not even subjective, it's a fact.

The cult following status for Batman Begins was forged through the years. The same can end up happening to The Amazing Spider-Man 1.

Is this really turning into a Spider-Man vs. Batman debate?

Gah.

Man, I need glasses because that lower score for Batman Begins looks like 85%, and TASM is at 73%.

Top critics may have liked it more, but that means nothing to the overall score, brah. Even the audiences liked Begins more.

It looks that way. I like both- it doesn't have to be one or the other. Anywho, back to Spidey! :woot:

Agreed.

Any idea on the next villain(s) for TASM 3? I'd assume Green Goblin and maybe Vulture or Doc Ock.

If I was doing it, I'd only have one villain.

No, it's Avenging Spidey acting like Begins got crap reviews when it didn't.

I personally think they're both great films in their own right and that's that. I only take what critics say with a grain of salt, positive or negative. :oldrazz:

Gah.

I love both films, it won't become a discussion because it isn't a matter of opinion, it's a matter of fact: TASM was better received by both the public and the critics, the proof is there with the box office numbers and the rotten tomatoes scores and average ratings among top critics (way better to gauge the reception of a film that was released back in 2005).

Batman Begins DVDs were selling like Aunt May's wheat cakes, but that is true for most of DC related films, see Man of Steel for that as well. I see both BB and TASM as a virtual tie when it comes to judging which one is better, I just favor TASM because Spidey is my all time favorite character.

Which is great, and that's my mentality. I like movies critics hate, and hate movies critics love.

Did you go and count the reviews for Batman Begins, strictly the ones from 2005? There are over 200 of them, about 203 to be exact, and several more before 2008, predating TDK. Only 15 out of 224 fresh are post TDK. Whereas with TASM, you have a total of 206 fresh, and 7 of them are from 2013.

So it is you who are factually wrong. Just like you were wrong about TASM being the highest rated reboot movie. Casino Royale wears that crown.

The cult following status for Batman Begins was forged through the years. The same can end up happening to The Amazing Spider-Man 1.

Batman Begins was a big hit from the get go. It's score was always in the 80's on RT. It did jump from 83 to 85 percent. Whereas TASM has had negative reviews balancing it out to keep it in the low 70's since it's release.

You're right it's possible it could go higher in time, but personally I doubt it.

Marc Webb really likes Mysterio. There's a lot of potential there, and I for one would love to see him in the next movie. And I hope, and assume, that we will see Chris Cooper as Green Goblin.

One?

Think bigger.

If "Think bigger" means Sinister Six, I wouldn't want that personally. I'm really interested in the spin-off, though.

I wanna see Norman realize he has to take matters into his own hands and suit up (assuming it'd be an outfit/armor of some sort) to take down Spidey. :yay:
