I think you could do a rival-istic buddy style movie with Eddie being an office rival for Peter at the Bugle while at the same time Venom and Spiderman battling superhero ideals in the streets of New York. Similar to Daredevil vs Punisher.

Venom will still be the lead like Steve Rogers was in Civil War. You basically tell the Venom arc from the villains pov.

See the problem with Holland is he is creatively chained to the MCU. Sony doesn't want to admit it but Venom has to be in a separate universe to work. How can you explain Venoms non reaction to the snap?

Just commit to there own Sony-verse and they can do whatever they want. Keep in mind, the Sony movies are not Marvel approved either. I don't think Feige wants to taint Holland with Sony's finger prints.

Cast a new Spiderman for Sony or bring back Garfield. Heck bring back McGuire if he's up for it. Full grown spiderman, will make for a clear distinction between teenage Holland. If audience's can digest Spiderverse I don't see why they can't adjust to a new live action Spider man. Not to mention DC has 2 live action versions of Superman and Flash in rotation. The casual audience's are smarter than you think.

Didn't they say that Eddie was blacklisted as a reporter in New York? He won't be able to work under Jonah with that in mind.

Things can change. Eddie get's some clout in San Francisco by becoming a super star reporter and all is forgiven. Or maybe a rival news paper in New York drafts him to piss off Jonah. Bans get lifted all the time.

Your not alone. I enjoyed all six of the live action Spidey films and I’m looking forward to Far From Home. But I do think Spider-Man 3 and ASM2 are the weakest in the franchise but I still like them flaws and all.

I think Marc should've focused on building up Eddie & Venom (should be based on the 1610 version since the series is focusing on Pete’s parents) for the third and the fourth films while Most of them Sinister Six members comes in later films rather than bringing them & the clone saga arc into one movie.

Can we please get these Amazing Spider-Man films subforums (TASM & TASM 2) into the folds of Spidey World? These two film sections are basically neglected and people want to forget they exist for the most part.

TBH I would merge every movie sub forum that isn't a recent release (within a year) or a future release.

If that's the plan, then I suggest melding them into the folds of the Raimi Trilogy section and renaming it.

I think MCU Spidey should have a section dedicated to his films, and Sony's Spin-offs should have a section of their own if things get handled that way.

That would be a nice way of continuing Garfields story and feeling as though The/Amazing series has another adventure inside of it which I felt it did.

The Spider-Man boards were the most active during the time of 2010 until Spider-Man Homecoming. I remember when I joined the site back in 2013 for TASM2 all the buzz was over here. Though a lot of posts were flame wars between Amazing and Raimi fans.

    Make the Spiderboards great again.

I think the Holland set of movies has the best Spider-Man/Peter Parker for sure. But they've made him way over reliant on Stark tech, and they avoided showing him swinging through New York, according to interviews, because that had already been done in the other movies. And I think that's incredibly foolish. That's like saying we won't show superman flying in this movie because he's flown in other movies. Spidey swinging through the city is part of what makes it a spider-man movie!

They could have been. It was a good start making him a high schooler, but as you say he's too reliant on Stark and tech. I think Holland is good, but every time I hear him say "Mr. Stark" it ruins it for me.

it sometimes felt like they pretty much made a batman beyond movie - but replace bruce wayne w/ tony stark and with how parker is reliant on that stark tech.

In the last few months I finally came to grips with the notion "This movies has too many plots", and it does feel at times like it needed more adjustment to be more properly coherent, but the movie still doesn't make me go "SEQUEL BAIT" anywhere like Alita: Battle Angel (awesome movie, but seriously) did, it feels more contained and sufficient before the Rhino climax battle.

I never hated the laundry bit, I always enjoyed it and think it's a fun way to show Peter hiding his costume from his aunt when he needs to wash it. Unlike Spider-Man 2 which has the character living alone and the laundry bit needed to be as short as it is, laundry scene here works much better than what people bash it for.

With Peter and Gwen's relationship as an arc over two movies, would you say the films were trying to say that they shouldn't have been together (what with the first film ending with Peter notoriously breaking his promise to George and the second with Gwen dying)? Or that it's better that they were together for a time even though it ended with Gwen's death, better to have taken chances, loved and lost (as Gwen seems to specifically say in 2)? Or both?

i feel its a bit of both.

it was a tragic romance. and always meant to be one.

i wanted to see how it would define peter's arc in part 3.

i wonder what marc webb had in mind for that.

Its about Gwen is old enough to decide for herself which risks she is willing to do.

I will be folding both these and the Raimi films into one forum for Past Spidey Movie Series.

Ok scratch that, the Raimi forum has too many damn threads already, and even these are bigger than I expected, so I'll likely just be folding the two TASM's together.
