Except the Photoshop looks better on the Batman cover.

And it was 1997....:o

This reminds me of the Batman & Robin posters...
I don't like any of these three. I'd prefer the upside down Oscorp tower poster.

But yeah, as I said, that one is my pick of the covers here. Not that promotional artwork has any bearing whatsoever on a film's quality.

I find the B&R comparisons confusing, mostly because I love ASM3 and hate B&R with a passion. In ASM2 there are about about 2 chessy one liners in the entire movie unlike the sea of puns from Arnie and the Ed Nigma/Max Dillion comparison (hero idolised and hated when he is rejected) is in other movies (IM3/Incredibles for example) not just Batman Forever (which isn't even B&R). Whatever.

They even put Rhino on the bluray cover?? fail

The picture they use for Rhino is a jumbled mess.

To be honest, I don't care what they put on the cover as I have printed out my own custom cover for ASM2.

The B&R thing is just hyerbole. Easier to compare it to B&R than to outline why the film is poor everytime you mention it. Comparing it to B&R is basically just saying the film was a trainwreck for X,Y and Z reasons, without actually stating them, like a convoluted abbrieviation in a sense.

I think if you analysed the film thoroughly and with an open mind, you'd see that the B&R comparisons are unfair

I saw the movie 5 times and each time there was gasps and then silence during the climax. This doesn't happen if the audience aren't engaged.

Didn't you hear? The audience chanted "down with sony" the entire time. Children cried, comparisons to movies from 17 years ago were rife, the film was literally the dawn of the end of humanity and the rise of the planet of the apes. People laughed at Gwen's death, the only people that cried were just sony fanboys. As the film ended, people cheered that the pain was over, and cried "Praise Toby Macguire" in unison.

This film is literally batman and Robin, if you didn't hate the film, you're just a fanboy.

I don't really care that much either, it's just baffling how much they screwed up with the marketing when the movie itself was as good as it was

the Rhino design kinda looks like origami though

As much as I enjoy the movie I think the design of Rhino was horrible and I have no doubt in my mind if Rhino is in S6 (and I hope he isn't) there will be a redesign. Also putting the Rhino in the adverts was a huge mistake as it would have been a good Easter Egg as you could remove the final two minutes and it would have no effect the movie at all.

In fact, had credits rolled with Peter at the graveyard it would have made for a more impactful close. Also it would have meant no one question the lack of Spider-Man in the S6 movie and having to draw out Spider-Man in ASM3.

I tried putting this in my sig, but it is too long. Damn it!

I'm actually not quite fond of that one.

These Batman and Robin comparisons are ridiculous. Whats even more ridiculous is the fact the movie has been out, people ave watched it and gave their opinions and the people who didn't like it still lurk these forms and try to dis it as much as possible. We know you don't like it and these exaggerated comparisons get annoying

I do think that the Batman and Robin comparison is a bit unfair because we're much better off for CBM movies nowadays than we were back then. When Batman and Robin came out there were fewer CBMs, so one high-profile bad one was a huge deal, to the point where people would think that CBMs had had their day. Nowadays, you can have a mediocre film like TASM2, but CBM movies are pretty safe as an ongoing concern thanks to decent CBMs like TWS and DOFP. So, in other words, the situation that happened when Batman and Robin came out, could only come about now if Marvel and, to lesser extents, Warner Bros. and Fox, made lousy CBMs like Sony. In fact, you only need one studio to be doing well with CBMs to keep the genre alive.

I think the Batman & Robin comparisons are a bit ridiculous... the Batman Forever ones, on the other hand, have more merit in my eyes.

i don't get why people are comparing it to any of them batman movies, its nothing like B&R and as for batman forever... what because the riddler was an manic admirer/fan turned evil from rejection... and because max was a mentally unhealthy spider-man fan desperate for attention and feels rejected by spider-man (Rejection wasn't the only reason and gnoring the fact electricity seemed to bring on the rage in max)

even if they were similar which tbh if you really look at it they are not at all even if they happen to take on the same sorta idea, Didn't IM3 and the incredibles have a similar villain also? if you want you can pick apart TASM2 and link it to every bad film you can, you can do that with every movie out there easy

apart from that how is it like batman forever?

This is it, you win the internet. Literally my favorite post on these forums

I saw Kung Fu Panda 2 last night. I suggest everyone watch Kung Fu Panda 2. They managed to have Po learn the truth about his parents and find out who he was while at the same time, recognizing his adopted father as he's real dad to him.

Also Gary Oldman is the villain and he's better than any of the 3 villains in TASM2.

It's a better TASM2 than TASM2.

how is it like batman forever?

Yeah, beyond some plot parallels (some of which, in fairness, turn up in all manner of films), I don't think it is really. That said, I do tend to think that TASM and TASM2 will probably end up being viewed in much the same way as people now view Schumacher's Batman films from a quality standpoint, as in them being a distinct, clearly-defined low-point in the franchise. I mean, I really can't imagine the next reboot going as embarrassingly badly as this one has gone.
