I also think that while it's okay to like the performance Andrew gave us in the ASM films, I think it would be naive to believe there are no other worthy actors out there that could give us an equally fantastic performance, especially if the characters direction and enemies are all in the hands of a company that understands them best. No matter how good an actor is they can not make the movie good on their own, and the ASM series has too much baggage for Marvel to want to connect to it. Bottom line is Marvel gets creative control over Spidey they are going to want to start fresh. Don't worry though Andrew is a good actor though and I am sure he will get roles elsewhere. Perhaps even playing one of the 1000's of characters that are part of Marvel Comics that have yet a chance to shine within the MCU.

If Marvel was planning to have an older Spidey, or planned to use Sony's idea of forgoing the origin and having an already established/experienced Spidey, I'd say Andrew should be retained for the new continuity.

However, Marvel seems set on having a younger Spidey, and Andrew is 31 going on 32.

He's too old for Marvel's vision for Spidey. And as great as he was IMO, it's best that he and Marvel part ways.

Now that said..... If Marvel ever wanted to do a Spider-Verse type film, I hope they would knock on Andrew's (and Tobey's) door.

That's the thing though, if that's the case then I don't want Marvel to take Spider-Man at all. Not that I really did anyways, I loved him being off in his own universe.

Wait wait wait. What the hell did I miss? This was in the emails? And not just more stupid rumors that everyone ate up? Maybe I didn't read them after all....... :wow:

That stuff is all from the e-mails, yes. They weren't just rumors. They wanted Channing Tatum for Venom, btw, and at least one executive wanted to ditch Garfield for Ryan Gosling. The Amazing franchise may have been done regardless. There was talk of turning S6 into a reboot.

Ughhhh, I'm not a fan of either of those guys at all, that executive that suggested Gosling needs to be fired, lol.

I'd heard the talk about the possible rebooting with Sinister Six as well but then I heard later that Amy Pascal was very against it and was fighting to keep Garfield on board.

Really though, they still have plenty of time until their set release dates. There's no guarantee either way that any of that would have ended up in the movies. After all, we all know how much this series of movies end up changing in development. :funny:

Don't forget EmmaCarnage, comic-relief Sandman, female Venom, Scorpia and the SS laughing at Spidey's black suit, causing him to throw it in the garbage.

I'm sorry, but I want to see a completely new Spider-Man in the MCU.
This is the first time I've ever disagreed with you lol.

Plenty of other talented actors out there. I personally hope they cast someone who's 15-16 years old and lock them down for multiple films.

So any thing new about Saturdays rumor or any thing new in general?

Tumblr users said somthing about ansel elgort replacing andrew garfield. I dont know where they heard it from. I dont know if you guys heard this little rumor but it would be funny since he's from the movie divergent who Woodley stars in so if he becomes peter parker the irony would be to damn high.

If Spider-Man goes into the MCU in future films, Andrew Garfield is gone. It's that simple. Marvel will not want any connection to the Amazing Spider-Man films.

Please refer to this post when you have thoughts of Andrew Garfiled in the MCU

El Maybe will be shown as the fraud he is when nothing breaks on Monday.

'You're a FRAUD!!'

You're like Eh Maybe's JJJ. :oldrazz:

Pretty much. Marvel would not want any of the baggage (and ASM has shed loads of it) and Andrew is part of that. Plus they don't want the awkward situation of explaining it's the same actor, but they just thrown everything else away. They want an entirely fresh start.

Don't want Elgort anywhere near MCU Spidey. Horribly over-rated, and doesn't fit the character at all. I'd even take Lerman or O'Brien over him.

If the Marvel-Sony deal goes through I want them to replace Garfield. Andrew's way too old and I want MCU Spidey to start from youth so he can last a long time in the franchise. Personally don't get the obsession around Garfield, good actor sure but I don't think he was anything spectacular in ASM1+2. Think that there are many actors out there that can do as good a job if not better.

They have to cast not only young Peter, but young MJ and Harry as well.

Hey guys,

I was planning to start a new countdown thread for "Sinister Six", starting at 666 days left, which would be January 16th.

Seeing as how uncertain the franchise's future is, I'm not sure we need the countdown just now. Best thing is to wait for the summit's results, e.g. something official from Sony and/or MARVEL.

Things need to be resolved sooner rather than later as the likes of CBM and El Maybe are milking the uncertainty for all its worth and getting loads of undeserved clicks.

I guess ComicBookCast2 are the same since they made that video on the casting call called:

The Amazing Spider-Man 3 IS HAPPENING! CASTING CALL OUT NOW

That really made me frown.

If only I knew where he lived, I'd so do this in front of his house.

I'd just make it anyway.

Officially it's still coming out in 2016 and if it doesn't happen we can always nuke the thread with the official Spidey in the MCU welcome party
