I'd be remiss if I didn't mention latino reviews coverage of yesterday's interview, where unlike ign they took the answers as a sigh of relief towards not having to put spidey in the script. They didn't mention the grinning and coyness that ign implied.

However, IGN was actually there, whereas I'm not sure if Latino Review was. Usually they get their info second hand

Cautiously optimistic. Best way to handle this kind of thing.

It'd make the most sense, too in terms of, "Why wasn't he helping The Avengers?" and all of that jazz.

Best way to do it is what you described:

-Start on a field trip to a science experiment, paid for by Oscorp Industries (one)
-Pan around numerous students, notably a female with red hair, a female with blonde hair and a male with brownish/orangish hair (two)
-Follow a Spider, see it get zapped under a beam of radiation, and fall it on a person's hand
-The bite occurs, and reveal the MCU Peter Parker's reaction to the bite followed by someone shouting, "Parker! Get a move on." or something like that.

The audience would explode.

Honestly, that's how I'd like to see the first solo Spidey film start. Do that scene, then cut to the opening Marvel logo.


And remember, according to the hacked emails, Marvel had a separate script for Civil War in case the deal went through. So it's quite possible he could have a significant role.

It very well could end up being awesome, we really don't know anything about it yet whatsoever. I wasn't happy when TASM was first announced either, but it ended up being my favorite movie. So I'm not ruling anything out just yet, it could go either way. I'm still personally strongly hoping against the deal having gone through for now though.

I have a feeling we're going to be getting an official announcement VERY soon about Spidey's role in all of this. I'm hoping it's a flat out purchase, but if Sony is still involved they'll want to get on it as soon as possible. A nice couple billion dollars in their pockets would be nice also if they sold, longevity shouldn't be something they're worried about... Especially with a character they've messed up three times in a row with a declining box office.

I think that's a possibility. Imagine if the after credits scene was Peter being bit by the spider. People would lose their minds seeing that after Age of Ultron or Civil War.

I suggested that in another thread a couple weeks back. Would be great to set up a new Spidey, and avoids having to retell the origin again in his own movie.
