This doesn't make it official though. We have heard absolutely nothing about this film that's official. No casting news, no interviews with Goddard or any of the producers.

Nope. And honestly, if Spider-Man finally made it to the MCU, would you want it to be Miles Morales?

Nope. Definitely would prefer Peter over Miles Morales.

Nope, pretty sure Sony's got rights to all Spider-Man characters.

Marvel could do a live-action TV show, but I doubt they will.

Wasn't sure if Miles Morales himself was part of the deal since he was created well after Sony acquired the Spider-man rights.

I'd rather have another sony movie than Miles Morales as Spidey in the MCU.

nothing against Miles, but Peter will always be Spider-Man for me.

Wouldn't the movie have had some official news before shooting?

Yes. Especially a Sony Spider-Man film... they want to make sure that people are really excited for whatever they put out. They're not quiet about anything.

This will be just like the past few times we've gotten discouraging news. Everyone goes ape**** and then.....nothing.

Certainly. Now its not shooting yet. Nor anytime soon, but we surely would've heard SOMETHING official if it was moving forward. There would be tangible evidence that the film was set to film where that Twitter user claimed it would.

Honestly if Sinister Six is going forward, I wouldn't be surprised if they're intentionally keeping quiet for now and hoping the MCU rumors will blow over, so there won't be as much fan backlash.

Agreed. Not wise to believe random twitter people with no credibility lol.

why? this is as valid as the rumors of spider-man in the MCU...
Just people's wishful thinking I guess.

Almost every rumor of Spidey in the MCU is believed right away, while people seem to brush off anything that suggests Sony will be keeping him.

Because, it's literally "some dude" on Twitter reporting about this news. and as others have pointed out, we should definitely have heard something by now.

I trust Latino Review more than some random guy on Twitter.

I think many people from both sides need to learn to relax and not overreact to every little rumor from a questionable source.

Just wait. We will get something official soon enough.

Again, if we talk about probability i think there is more chance for Sony to keep spidey than do a deal with Marvel, i think the only way of the deal happening is to MAJOR Sony execs to make them to...

theres gonna be fan backlash regardless, similar to the Fantastic Four reboot that we know little to nothing about.

Come to think of it, why would a random comic book shop be reached out to for source material?

Wouldn't the producers and writers have better sources than that?

I said this before, and I'm no genius, but how can they NOT do a deal like this:

SPIDER-MAN SOLO MOVIES
Marvel Studios have creative control with assurances made to Sony (like they won't kill off the character)
Sony & Marvel co-produce the films (percentages TBD)
Disney markets
Sony distributes and keeps distribution fee
Sony & Marvel share in the profits (percentages TBD)
Sony maintains BluRay/DVD/Digital rights
Marvel maintains merchandizing rights

OTHER MARVEL FILMS WITH SPIDER-MAN APPEARING
Marvel Studios have creative control with assurances made to Sony (like they won't kill off the character)
Sony receives a license fee and/or percentage of the profits

one of reasons it hasn´t gone back to Marvel, if we get a Venom movie i´ll know that guy forced it to happen. He has made GOOD spider-man material but it´s time for someone else to produce...

Yeah. Unless the next film blows all other Spider-Man films out of the water and the series progressively gets better, they're going to lose Spider-Man altogether. A deal with Marvel means they split the cost, put out quality films, and they get to partially hold onto Spider-Man for many, many years.
