You're right. Dylan O'Brien is one of those better choices. :o

What is with the Lerman and O'Brien bandwagons?

I don't see Spider-Man in them at all. There has got to be better options.

Why should Marvel cast a teen, when they have the perfect Spider-Men in Hollywood right now?

Agreed.

They're male and young. Clearly they're the best choices out there. :oldrazz:

And they just so happen to look like the Peter Parker of the comics.

Logan looks more like Ultimate
Dylan looks more like 616

Why's that exactly? Marvel want a teen Peter, they'll cast a teen Peter.

Again, highly unlikely.

They want star power, hence why we got RDJ as Iron Man, Sam Jackson as Nick Fury, Edward Norton/Mark Ruffalo as Hulk, Chris Evans as Cap, etc.

Why wouldn't they get a name with recognition for Spidey? Especially if they'd want him to be the face of their MCU after RDJ takes his leave.

What worked for Harry Potter starting out may not work for Spidey (Also the fact that Daniel Radcliffe will always be known as Harry Potter, no matter how much he tries to break out.)

Marvel is all about $$$, and while Spider-Man is the key focus, having a talented/recognizable name associated with the character garners extra interest and money.

Of course on the flipside, Marvel has taken risks so something like that could pay off, but I'm pretty certain we're going to see a bigger (young) name be Spider-Man.

For every Downey there's a Hemsworth. The Spider-Man brand sells. Marvel make the stars.

Still hating on O'Brien for no reason? Well, atleast you're persistent.

Haters gonna hate, ain'ters gonna ain't. Peace out.

I'm a hater for... Not liking an actor? Seriously? Oh, and I said that about Lerman. So... Yeah.

I... Really don't see it. But ok

Now to say they aren't very good actors is entirely your opinion.
But to say they don't look like Spider-Man, is entirely different story!
You don't see the resemblance?

I would so much rather have Logan Lerman as Peter Parker over Dylan. Logan Lerman actually looks like some sort of iteration of Peter Parker.

Marvel casted (at the time) a relatively unknown actor who played a relatively unknown character (to most in the GA and critics, us comic geeks don't mean that much) and it worked.

Marvel casted a well-known actor (RDJ) for a not-so well known character (Iron Man, unless you wanna count the cartoons and such.) and it soared and now everybody is an Iron Man fan.

I can't see Marvel casting a teen to play Spider-Man, I really can't.

We're going to get a name that is recognized, I'm certain of that. (if Marvel gets him, anyway)

There's no denying Spidey sells, though. (look at his sales from last year)

You diss O'Brien every time someone mentions him. Duh you're a hater.

Not every time... Like, that particular example, I was talking about Lerman, so wrong actor dude. But in the same way everyone jumps in and says, "yay great choice!", surely I am allowed to say I don't want him in the role?
