I don't think at the time when he did that interview back in 2012 that he knew the success Marvel was going to have with this Cinematic Universe. Maybe the past few years have changed his mind. I personally don't see Marvel bringing him back unless it's in Infinity War.
As much as I'd like to see him back eventually, I really don't see it happening any time soon either.

Back on topic with Spider-Man.

I'm normally a patient person when it comes to things Movie/TV news wise. The lack of any news here for the past couple months has really has gotten under my skin. Hopefully we hear something by the end of the month.

I think the lack of news, may signify, there's no deal, and everything, as far as Sony plans are concern, are moving forward.

Or it could mean Marvel is keeping it a secret for the biggest "holy ****" fangasm post-credits scene ever.

The lack of news really doesn't mean much, it could be an indication of either scenario.

I'm willing to bet, Marvel has plans for Spidey and Fantastic Four. Plans if they get them back and if they don't.

Probably Spidey yes, but I'm not sure about the FF. That one seems like much more of a long shot to me.

In which case, I'm out. I have no interest in further Sony Spider-Man related movies. I'll just enjoy the Marvel films and dream of what might of been...

In which case I might shed tears of joy!

I hope not. TASM2 left a bad taste in my mouth. Then hearing of silly spin-offs made it even worse. I know we hear disgruntled fans on here all the time say they won't watch a movie because of something, but hearing that news made me say it. They won't get another penny from me as long as they make a Spider-Man film.

I remembered something.

If Marvel wanted too. They could have Spidey in the MCU right now. This very second.

They have the TV rights. The could do a big budget TV show and have it on ABC. Have an episode where he teams up with the Avengers with the film actors, with Daredevil.

You know what would be neat?

If they somehow agreed to it, Andrew and Tobey could have small cameos in the MCU film. The new Peter/Spidey could be at a coffee shop (or anywhere else), and he could bump into Andrew or Tobey, or even both at the same time. It would be hilarious if they gave the two one-liners, or something comedic to get a laugh out of the audience.

I might be alone on that, but I think it would be great.

I hear ya NYS, in many ways, we share the same sentiments; however, even though I would certainly like to boycott anything Sony related...because of my Spidey fandom, I most like will still spend the money, venture in the theater, watch TASM3, TS6, Venom, Agent May, Spider-Man:The Reboot of The Reboot, etc, and then come here to the Hype, and make another outlandish statement how Sony should give the rights back to Marvel.

I know....crazy isn't it. :halo:

Not sure if that's true. I know they have the animated television rights. Sony may have all live action rights to Spider-Man, but television may be complicated.

I would love a Marvel Studios Netflix show with Joss Whedon, Jed Whedon, & Maurissa Tancharoen in charge, maybe get Greg Weisman involved as well.

listening to TASM2 soundtrack "Cold War" track. Man, this is superb. A great twist to the regular soundtracks we receive for comic book films. and it sounds exactly like Spider-Man.

I'm not getting my hopes up about this "Spidey Summit".

We don't even know if it's going to be public to us. :(

Well, according to Wikipedia, they have the live-action TV rights too. Not sure how all of it works exactly though.

"In early 2009, Sony returned all Spider-Man television rights (including live action) in exchange for an adjustment to the movie rights."

I'd like to see that, it'd certainly help me feel a little better about the whole thing. :oldrazz:

I love just about the entire score. LOVE it. "I'm Goblin" is probably my favorite track at the moment.

My way of getting over all of this studio company crap: just ignore it. read comics, draw, listen to music, watch movies, just ignore all of the BS rumors and junk. Listening to every single rumor will make you go mad. just be patient and wait for an actual official confirmation.

I love that one, my favorites are Im Spiderman, Cold War, No Place Like Home, and You're That Spider Guy. ARgh, they're all so good!!!!!!!!

Not sure how accurate that is since it's Wikipedia. But if true, I'd really like to see my Netflix idea come true. Then have Marvel make a deal with Sony to distribute live action movies of same said Spider-Man and to use him in their own Marvel movies like The Avengers.

I really want a Spectacular Spider-Man Season 3.
and TASM3 without the Sony butchering.

Great choices, it's so tough to choose! I love the Peter/Gwen theme that runs throughout too, it still gets me emotional!

This would be the ideal solution to me too.
