I don't buy it, but even if they are being honest, I still see the deal happening at some point because Sony just can't produce another film, it'll flop

No worries lol. I just find it fishy that Marvel wouldn't be aware of these rumors. I think they're playing coy again.

Very hard to believe a website called Cosmicbook reporting something where Marvel says they're surprised at rumors coming back, when they've been going on for over a month and a half now with the big Sony hacker leak causing a wave of sensation all over the Net. Where was this response when this first happened?

Take this with a massive grain of salt.

I think the only two points of absolute logic are:

1) Sony has made less and less money with each Spider-man movie and their company has been in trouble for a while, compounded exponentially by the hacks. The best way to make cash hand over fist with little risk is to entertain a deal with Marvel. They need this.

and

2) Spider-man is a billion dollar IP and they would be fools to lose/sell it.

Therein lies the rub as these two points of logic are seemingly in direct contradiction. And I think that's why we get all the rumors and hearsay. Because it's the truth. Sony, in typical Sony fashion, want to have their cake and eat it too.

I won't believe anything until either Marvel announces a deal or Sony announces the SINISTER SIX cast. The rest is us just banging our heads against a wall. The buzz has warn off and now it just hurts.

I dunno man. What if nothing is happening behind the scenes at all? What if we're living in this bubble and just lying to ourselves? Sony could just stay quite and drop the trailer for S6 one month before the movie. The budget will be like 50 mill just to keep the rights. That article says Avi Arad controls the Spider-Man rights and that's the only thing going on for him right now. That man is satan.
