First of all, not just MCU. There are many examples, like Nolan films, Scorsese films, Tarantino films. They are in a place where they received more flowers than they deserve. You can't criticized them. But when someone does it, people crucify him.

You must be doing selective reading. People criticize those movies all the time. Including the MCU ones. The argument you're making is that they are overrated (I assume that's what you mean by them getting more flowers than they deserve), not that they are bad movies that deserve rotten critical scores.

Hate/dislike, it's the same silly denial. You can't accept anyone could legitimately hate these movies because they found them to be that bad.

I'd say Interstellar and Wolf of Wall Street got tons of criticisms. Those are not some smooth sailing universally loved films. Yes I ran into posters who called whoever didn't love Interstellar dumb but that's just what insufferable Nolan zealots do. Most weren't claiming such a thing.

Also Google 'Quentin Tarantino sucks' and see all the results you get. He's actually one of the more controversial directors with his overly violent style. A very popular director or set of movies always have critics and detractors. In fact the more popular they are the more likely they are to get criticized because there is always people who feel they are not worthy of the praise they get.

I honestly think that hate a movie is irrational, because at the end of the day, it's just a bad movie. I know, we can love one, we can be inspired by one, but a bad bad very bad movie does not hurt you. I think you do hate a film, if you don't appreciate it as a what it is, a film. Just my thoughts.

Not overrated. But I think they've got higher percentages because they're in the MCU, and that means that they are not judged as regular films. In fact, they're part of something bigger. So I think, a reviewer qualifies the franchise, not just the film. And I never talk about a conspiracy.
