I can't feel bad for Andrew. You can tell he really prefers doing other kinds of movies anyway, just from interviews he does. He's an actor, he has a very fulfilling career ahead of him so he'll be fine.

2015 is probably going to be one of my favourite years for movies in a long time. I'm seeing Kingsman next week to make sure it gets off to a good start

Kingsman is awesome. Just saw it today. Been a while since I saw a movie that was so full of fun.

I feel bad for Andrew. But Marvel would really benefit from a clean slate (new actors). Not a lot of people who want a Marvel Studios Spider-man film will want any of the TASM team to come over. It would be incredibly awkward and weird for Andrew to stay in my opinion. He had his chance and Sony wasted him, it sucks but you gotta move on.
It's just not fair for Andrew tho... he's going to be left behind, after all of this is over.

harryoscop your user title is "Get Spidey in the MCU!"

Sometimes I want a reboot, then sometimes I want TASM3.

In a lot of recent interviews, when he's been asked about Spidey, he's given dry responses.

He still gives complete answers, but they're not with the same enthusiasm he had prior to TASM1 and TASM2.

Yeah. I'd assume he's pretty tired of Spidey by now, that's all he's done for the last 4 years.

Andrew said he loved Spidey :o so why wouldn't he be willing to commit to the character? we need him for at least 5 more years

I pretty sure he didn't enjoy Sony interfering with TASM 2. That would probably explain his change in behavior. He probably doesn't want to be a part of this franchise anymore since Sony is meddling with his favorite superhero.

I love Pizza, but I doubt I'd like to eat nothing but Pizza for the rest of my life.

TDK> TDKR - Agree.
Iron Man > Avengers - Agree.
Incredible Hulk > TASM - Don't Agree.
Hellboy 2 = Dredd - No chance.

So are you saying Hellboy 2 is better than Dredd? I wouldn't disagree with that.

Yes, that's also what I think.
He loves the character, did his best and the studio butchered his work, and the work of the entire team (Marc Webb, Shailene Woodley, Dan dehaan ...). He made it very clear in his last interview. Which might have cost him big as the sony leaks email suggest. But anyway, He had the courage the denounce that!

If Andrew is not coming back, MCU or not, I want Logan Lerman or Dylan O'Brien. The two and only good actors, Peter Parker-looking-like I can see and want to see playing the role.

Think BIGGER, Harry!

25 more years wouldn't hurt. :oldrazz:
Hell yes! :woot:

If Marvel makes TASM3, we won't have that problem, now will we?

Of course not, he can alternate between playing Spidey and playing other roles. Ala Henry Cavill and Robert Downey Jr

Yes, he can... but look - he hasn't done anything except Spider-Man since 2011. That's all he has, other than 99 Homes. He has made it clear in the past that he prefers doing smaller movies anyway (look at his filmography for example) and 99 Homes is an example of him returning to form. The Scorcese movie he's attached to is obviously gonna be something small, not a blockbuster a la TASM2. But having done Spidey for 4 years straight + his probably negative experiences during production, I seriously doubt that he's all too happy about doing Spidey for longer. If we were to get TASM3, I can see him doing that because he'd be obliged to... but if we were to get that hypothetical Marvel reboot and he were to be offered the role, I can't see him doing that. That's a longer contract, less time to do what he loves to do.

Now, obviously I don't know the guy... and I can't speak for him, but from what we do know and what we can guess from interviews and logic... I wouldn't be surprised if he's tired of the role by now.

Just my opinion. I'd love Andrew to be Spidey for a while, but wouldn't feel bad for him if he got fired - he has a long career ahead of him, doing what he loves to do.

Like I said, nobody wants to eat nothing but Pizza for the rest of their life, they wanna live a life trying different foods and experiences... not stuck with the same old meal forever (unless you're REALLY into Pizza, and in that case I hope I'm not offending you).

:yay:

:( all good points, but I'm going to miss him.

I like Andrew Garfield but I could care less about him staying if his movies are going to be bad.

It does seem like a lot of people care more about Andrew than they do Spider-Man. I would have very much preferred if TASM2 was a huge success and Andrew's Peter Parker lived on. But TASM2 wasn't a success and the franchise as a whole is pretty much dead. I feel bad for the people who loved those two films, but... y'know...
