Going by what Bendis said it seems it was way more split in opinion then lets do it for fan service

When all was said and done , I think it was clearly done to please alot of the fans who pointed to the organic web shooters as a criticism of the original films. It may have been split but in the end they I think they aired on the side of pleasing the fans in addition to distinguishing it from the Raimi films.

sometimes the idea alone is better then how they handle the idea

the lizard did break his webshooters in TASM which was obviously to take that advantage away from him and i thought that was a nice touch

you could even say the idea of adapting the webshooters to electro was a good idea in TASM2 even if some were not fond of its execution

Those things were all fine n dandy but the lack of cool webshooter stuff would only be excusable if the mechanic shooters had been the status quo since the first raimi movie. But when after 3 installments of organic web they suddenly switch it to mechanic and only have 5 seconds of "ok now he made them" and two blink and you'll miss em moments, it's pretty cheap and annoying

That sucka is playing with our emotions now. Just like Avi feeds on our hopes and dreams everyday. In the end when they're done playing and feeding they are going to crush us. Hard.

I used to not really give a damn what was going on with El Mayimbe, but he had enough scoops last year that I at least keep an eye on what's going on from time to time.

I wish he would be just a little more straightforward with that tweet.

He tends to go for suspense with this sort of thing. Frankly, most internet types with a website tend to, as they need those clicks.

Well, I'll assume more details have been thrown into the mix. I think even if somehow a deal doesn't happen, it's safe to say there will be some major changes.

Random thought of the day: Sony announced they're focusing a bit less on films and a bit more on television. What if they're wanting to share Spidey (with Marvel creative control) in exchange for getting partial Spidey television rights back? Characters like Black Cat, Silver Sable, and Prowler are likely part of the Spidey package (Black Cat definitely is), and any one of those could have television potential...

:hmm:

Sony should make a Spider-Man Turn Off The Dark movie.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought that particular announcement was actually an old announcement from at least a year ago. Someone check out the date real quick?

Where is Umberto Gonzalez from and does he have any credibility?

I remember they mentioned this sometime in 2013.

El Mayimbe from Latino Review. He got some fairly big scoops last year, including some of the behind the scenes changes with Ant-Man and Daredevil.

So I'm assuming he has a scoop for us!

Not sure if that tone is good or bad though, but I suppose he sounds excited (maybe he's excited to crush our dreams)

Keep an eye on latino review

He is not 100% accurate (I do t think any scooper really is) and he has missed a few, but IMHO, his is very often way more right than wrong.

I ignore El "Maybe," he speaks about scoops every five seconds and isn't always right. I think it is best to ignore him.

None of the scoopers are right all the time (often because they're fed false info), and I also tend to take everything from Latino Review with a massive grain of salt. For what it's worth, one of their scoops from last month (Viola Davis in Suicide Squad) has been confirmed.

It's wise to take any online "scoop" with a grain of salt. But, look at how many Spidey-related rumors have been proven to be true so far.

Take the review with a grain of salt and wait for an announcement.

Remember that guy that said TASM2 was the Dark Knight of the Spider-Man franchise?

I remember John Campea of AMC Movie Talk said that. That guy really got my hopes up for nothing.

TASM2 was the most I enjoyed a Spider-Man film in theaters since SM2, but a Begins/TDK-level franchise salvaging film it was not. If anything, it's probably killed Spider-Man at Sony.

To me, I view this film more as the Batman Forever/Batman & Robin of the Spider-Man franchise. I wonder if he was outright lying to "advertise" the movie or if his sources were just really in love with the movie.

you know what´s funny? producers loved TASM2 ... and some people who saw the "rough cut" too so that tells me the problem in the first place compared with Marvel or DC is that they are not confident of their vision...if they have any, i mean the E-mails make it see like they just throw ideas independently and they don´t actually plan...and on the other hand if the producers are happy where a move is going don´t edit the crap out it to force it into your vision

I really enjoyed the movie myself despite its glaring flaws, so it's entirely possible he loved it as much as I did. Despite my own enjoyment of TASM2, I would never in a million years compare it to any of the Nolan Batman films.
