Hopefully. I know we started getting casting news a good four months before TASM2 began filming. So I guess we'll see.

I think what you all are forgetting when you talk about Mysterio creating illusions of Gwen is that it requires Mysterio to know about Spider-Man's identity. Do we want that?

I'd say: perhaps. One aspect that I really like about Mysterio is how he secretly studies Spider-Man. It would be pretty cool to learn that Quentin Beck has studied Spider-Man all this time in a since long crafted scheme. And if he's studied Spider-Man as detailed as one could expect, then it wouldn't be too far fetched to assume that he's learned about Spider-Man's relationship with Gwen (the bridge scene among others) and thus also that Peter Parker is Spider-Man.

It would, however, create another problem. Kinda like with Dr. Strange in Arkham City: why doesn't he simply use this advantage in a more devastating way?

Does Mysterio really do that kind of things? And wouldn't that be too similar to Scarecrow?

Exactly. It would either be way too random, or it would require Mysterio to be almost too similar to Scarecrow.

What I'm asking is if we want Mysterio to know Spider-Man's identity (and thus being able to use Gwen in illusions), or if we'd prefer him to not know.

I hope he will be used external to Oscorp. I prefer him to be his own weapon. As I said, he could know about Gwen etc. since he's studied Spider-Man from the beginning or something like that. At the same time, however, I'm getting pretty fed up of villains knowing about Peter being Spider-Man. Sure, Electro and Rhino didn't, but those are the only two exceptions in 5 films.

Just because you hated the latest movie doesn't mean you won't like the next one aswell Spider-Man 2 and 3 are main examples I'm pretty sure you loved Spider-Man 2 but thought Spider-Man 3 could have been a lot better

Sony basically ****ed themselves because they can't have one villan unless they go with just Harry, and GG has been used 3 times already, and if they drop S6, critics are gonna whine about another dropped plot point..

3 times Really? the Goblin we saw in Spider-Man 3 wasn't even a Goblin he was just Harry Osborn as Rocket Racer

Spider-Man 2 was great. Spider-Man 3 was ok but could have been better. The problem with this film series is Sony wants to do the hip cool thing and control.

The Amazing Spider-Man 1 = Batman Begins Christopher Nolan influence which was popular at the time since so many films were inspired by Batman Begins and Nolan.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 = The Avengers Influence.

It's just weird. It's like going from The Green Mile to Ghostbusters. Love both films to death but both are 2 completely different films, tone, and styles.

Also Marc Webb. I feel bad for him because he's basically Sony's *****. Sam Raimi was an establish directer. I would say he is respectable I mean he did the Evil Dead series. He is someone who knows Hollywood and wants creative control in a film. He was forced to put Venom in Spidey 3. Don't blame him. Would you quit doing a movie on your favorite childhood superhero because the studio is messing with you? No. Not right away but when working on Spider-Man 4, he had no good ideas. He wanted Black Cat but Sony shot that down because she was too similar to Catwoman so he decided "**** it" and left.

Burton was the same way after his first 2 Batman films. WB wanted a different style, he didn't like it, he quit.

Marc Webb basically did 1 film and some music videos. He's a noob. He hasn't been as involved in film making as well as other CBM directors and Sony took advantage of that in TASM2. He's in the same position Joel Shoemaker was doing Batman films. Not saying he's bad but he is controlled by the studio to do the film they want and not the film he wants.

It's highly unlikely he will tell his film in the 3rd. Why? Why would he? Why would Sony be like "yea sorry for ****ing up 2, you do 3 by yourself"? They keep shooting down Raimi's ideas for a fourth film, why would they not do the same for Webb?

This series is just very genetic. Show the people what they want and nothing more, get actors people know to see it (Jamie Foxx and Paul), get Hans Zimmer to do music, get Alicia Keys and the hottest rapper alive on a track for the theme song of the film, cut boom billion.

No it's not a billion Sony, it's dog****.

If that's true, here are my feelings towards your Spider-Man universe Sony.

I think it was shortly after TASM, someone got to sit and talk with Avi Arad at a café and asked about Mysterio (it was his/her favourite villain), and Avi basically replied that he likes the villain but doesn't think he would work in a film.

We also have the article written by Dan Slott about his visit on the stage of TASM2, where Webb asked Dan who he thinks should be the villain in TASM3, to which Dan said Mysterio should be the obvious choice, or something along that. Then Webb looked at Avi Arad and/or Matt Tolmach and went "See guys!" (I don't remember if Webb actually said it or if that's how Dan interpreted Webb's facial expression), as if Webb tried to convince them (we also already know that Mysterio is a favourite of Webb's).
