The cover says they are agents of SHIELD, but from what I understand, SHIELD is never mentioned in the story itself.

Is it worth getting the "Untold Tales of Spider-Man Omnibus?"

yaeh, it's worth going for... and YES, Pete's parents WERE SHIELD agents who worked alongside Wolverine...

god, that guy just shows up EVERYWHERE, doesn't he?... :whatever:

I can't wait to read this. Wish I wasn't broke so I could afford the whole omnibus. :(

the only place worth a damn to buy Marvel hardcovers, such as Omnibuses, are ONLY at cheapgraphicnovels.com

you get 'em there for 50% off the retail price... I wouldn't waste my time anywhere else...

you know what I just noticed about that cover with Peter's parents?... Richard and Mary look like slightly older versions of Peter and Betty Brant, LOL...

Its $54.00 on cheapgraphicnovels.com, and on amazon its $36.00.

amazon is NOTORIOUS for piss-poor loose packaging and packages arriving in a sometimes damaged or smashed condition...

no thanks, I rather go with cheapgraphicnovels, where EVERY package containing a book(s) is FIRMLY packed and protected...

with amazon, spending the time in shipping back a damaged item, having to eat the cost of shipping it back and THEN having to wait for the replacement item isn't worth the pain-in-the-ass hassle, when with the other place, it's a one-time done deal with a happy customer... namely ME... so the $18. price difference is worth it to ME...

I got my Untold Tales Omnibus from my shop for $50 taxes included brand new... and I also got the Man-Thing Omnibus for $65 taxes included brand new...

:yay:

I'll get the Untold Tales Omnibus as a gift for myself when I graduate. Hehe.

I just read "What if… Spider-Man married Black Cat?" I have to say I really enjoyed it, and it showed how vicious of a villain Vulture is.

The only Spider-Man what if I remember ever reading was "What if the Alien Costume possessed Spider-Man"? It had some of the earliest Mark Bagley Spider-Man art I think...

there were a lot of pretty good What If? issues with Spidey way back when... I remember the very first one with the Fantastic Five... I THINK years later, there was a sequel...

It depends on the seller from Amazon though too. I've found several that do an astounding job at packaging and being very upstanding with customer service. Vighbooks is one of the best. I swear it took me about 20 minutes to get the book out of the packaging and it was in absolute flawless condition as described by them. If they have anything I want, I use them, period. There's a couple of others from there too that are just as awesome.

I never had a problem with Amazon but it's also been a long time since I've ordered TPB's from them either.

I order from amazon frequently and rarely have a problem. Its always good to look at the seller reviews/ratings before buying anything.

Just read TASM issues 249-251 with the Hobgoblin. Wow, that was pretty darn intense. And it has a nice lead into the Secret Wars!

At the end of TASM #122 (the final showdown), who is the character watching Spider-Man in the shadows?

I think it was revealed later that it was Harry Osborn. But I might remember it wrong.

It was Harry... he says he was there in ASM # 136/137 (I believe)

:yay:

Harry.
But I always wondered if that was who it was really supposed to be.
