I approve. She was mentioned a while back when the reboot first started. If she becomes Mary Jane, given there will be Mary Jane in this new franchise, I would be happy.

Elena Satine isn't such a good actress (but then again, playing Mary-Jane doesn't require great acting skills, so whatever...) nor I find her that attractive anyway.

And what's with all this Mary Elizabeth Winstead obsession? That pic posted in this thread is the only pic where she looks truly hot, other than that she is nothing special honestly, I've seen her in a couple of movies, she's cute but that's it. Really overrated imo, but I can live with it.

I hope Webb & Co. take it seriously and choose someone who would fit really well for MJ and by this I mean NO ES, but MEW would be alright I guess.

look at garfield, how many people cast him before the reveal? you can count them on one hand and how it's hard to imagine anyone else for the role.

I think MEW could do a good Mary Jane but after the Dunst fiasco, I think we need someone who could to a great MJ.

How do you know she auditioned?

She was announced/listed on Many websites as one of the girls to audition for TASM.

In an interview, she said SHE DID in fact audition and while it wa the role of Mary Jane she wanted, when reading for the director/producers she realized the character they she was reading for was Gwen.

However, some rumors persists that Mary Jane was going o be in the filmas just a friend or introduced in the infamous
"you hit the jackpot" scene at the end but it was scrapped eventually due to them wanting to leave focus on Gwen.

MEW was even campaigining to audition/be cast in TASM until she and her agents found out there would be no MJ, a role MEW SERIOUSLY wants by the way, just like Satine.


Honestly, I'd be fine with Satine or MEW. I know they love character from the comics and I know they care enough to do there best.

Like AG. He loves the cahracter and thats why he's gonna do such a great job.

Oh and they are good actors.

Anyone who says Satine or MEW are bad are wrong. They are just victims of good actresses given bad material schtick.

I actually think having ppl from older films have cameos in newer films isn't stupid....it's been done MANY times before with other film franchises but whatever....nobody ever seems to listen to reason on these boards...

I get what you're saying and in MANY instances a cameo from an older version of something is a cool thing. For example, when Lou Ferrigno (the Hulk from the TV series) plays a security guard in the new Hulk movie...that was something that was really neat cause it provided nostalgia and it wasn't weird because so much time had passed between the movie and the TV show.

The main reason that I believe that a cameo from Tobey/Kirsten or someone else from the Raimi movies would be going 'against the grain' is because although people would be like 'oh, cool...look at that it's TOBEY!" it would also be connecting the Raimi movies to the Webb production. As I said before this is counter-productive because Sony is trying to make this new set of movies separate from the older ones and the inclusion of even a cameo would halt that progress. Also, the Raimi movies are not that old with the most recent one released only 4 years ago.

Don't get me wrong, with the exception of the 3rd installment I love what Raimi and co. did with the Spidey mythos. They basically didn't have any other references to go off of besides animated shows and the comics and look at what they were able to create. Now, with Webb and co. they have an advantage because the Raimi films have already been made and they have those to draw upon for ideas and such.

My only hope or concern or whatever you'd like to call it, is that they pick an actress that is not only very beautiful but can act well and pull of the 'real' MJ persona. It doesn't matter if it's a well known actress or an unknown up-and-coming star....just give me my MJ! t:

Emma is a current Hollywood IT girl...more so than MEW.
