I GREATLY disagree. Sony was down for a Spider-Man 4 for a while and they then decided to reboot the franchise after Raimi kept trying to push the release date because he wasn't satisfied with the script/story. To say Sony wanted to reboot because of people thought S-M 3 was a letdown is something I don't agree with. Everything the studio has done shows otherwise that they wanted the reboot because of what the "public" wanted.

Is he in the air or sticking to a wall?
the official word was that Sam said he felt he couldn't make the deadline (which was suppose to be what, last summer?) yet they decide to do a reboot and the film comes out this summer? a year after what was suppose to be the release date fro SM4? that makes ALOT of sense sony.

Are you guys serious? Sam raimi had a hand on why we have a reboot. Just look at all the spider-man films. I'm glad we have a reboot. Did everyone really want a sm4? Raimi has always been cgi crazy. He wanted a special effects extravaganza in the likes of avatar for sm4.

I found them dull. They're films I struggle to watch now. I have no interest in watching them. For me, they got worse with each sequel. S2 had better action scenes, and JJ was funnier in that film, but overall, it was inferior to S1. But for me, they where all just meh.
But that's just me. That was one interpretation of the character I did not connect with at all. This is why I'm happy with the reboot. Everything looks right for me. This will hopefully be the interpretation of the character i've been waiting for.

My sentiments exactly. And a horrible Mary Jane Watson. James Franco and J.K. Simmons were the best thing about the raimi trilogy though. That's not the reason I'm happy for the reboot. The CGI, whilst heavy, was never my problem. It was everything else. Lack of Chemistry between Maguire/Dunst. Aweful dialog. A silent spiderman. Rather dull movies IMO.
These films are just so underwhelming. So far, this reboot looks brilliant. It looks like the spidey film i've been waiting for. As I've said, I'll give a true verdict when it's out on DVD/Blu-ray. Only when doing that with the others did I get a true judgement on them, so this needs to be treated the same for me.
Are you serious? He had a hand in why we have a reboot because he walked away from an awful script he didn't write. Sony wanted Vulturess...he was smart enough to say no.Are you guys serious? What!? The swinging doesn't look anything as Raimi films, it's pretty clear that there is an actor there swinging (even if it is in front of a green screen). Raimi films only had a CGI Spidey, except when talking, even fighting goons or running in front of USA CGI flags (watch the first time Peter takes pictures of Spidey for the Bugle on SM 1, that scene is ridulous how bad the CGI was, or any fight with the Goblin or Doc Ock). The only good CGI was Sandman (that was incredible). Are you serious? He had a hand in why we have a reboot because he walked away from an awful script he didn't write. Raimi was cgi crazy? Do you have eyes? Look at the trailer for this movie....it's a cgi bonanza. The budget for this movie is rumored at $200+ million. The entire final fight looks to be all cgi. The lizard is all cgi. Most of the swinging scenes look cgi like Raimi's movies. Are you that delusional?

haha I don't think that at all. Hahaha.....ha .ha...haha. you must really love the raimi movies. Ive always thought they missed their mark. But those faults in the raimi trilogy is why I'm happy we have a reboot.Wtf does that have to do with why there is a reboot?
This is the most lol worthy argument I have seen on here in a long time.
Mike here thinks because he and some Internet fanboys hated Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head and emo Peter Parker that Sony listened to their Internet cries for justice and decided to reboot the franchise. Hahahahahaha.
HAHAHAHAHA
oh yea, no doubt its Cameron's idea. but raimi decided to go along with it because he felt that would alienate peter from the general audience, if he were to have made the webshooters......Which is bsActually, the organic webbing was an element from James Cameron's Spider-Man script that he decided to keep for his version. It wasn't necessarily something that he came up with himself.
