Am I the only one liking the Costume??

It seems to be inspired from the Ben Reilly Costumes, which used to be my Favourite costume

I think it looks great and more importantly, it looks like something a teenager would design. It is heavily stylised and I personally am preferring it to Sam Raimi's.

Also I have read some of the posts ,in regards, to the CGI. I actually really like it, it looks like it has come from the comic books. It has a very distinct style and tone to it and I feel it is a very creative route to take. They used CGI in the Raimi trilogy but it wasn't particularly stylised. It was very bland in my opinion.

In this the CGI is vibrant and has very sharp distinctive colour themes. Especially, the colour red. That is very much Marc Webb's style. I remember watching an interview on 500 Days of Summer and apparently the colour blue is a very predominant colour throughout. The reason why Webb chose to do this was because he was amazed by Zoey Deschannel's piercing blue eyes.

Webb is very artistic and you can see that flare in this film. I personally really like the visual style and think the burning car scene is visually striking and interesting.

Really my only complaint, is that I didn't expect there to be as much CGI as there was in the trailer. And questionable looking CGI at that. I thought the movie would use a lot more practical effects than what was shown.
Well Lizard had to be in CGI... unless they wanted to hire Del Toro and his special effects team. I think Lizard looks fine, for Sony Imageworks standards...

I love how Marc Webb and his team makes the film look like true art (from what we've seen in the trailers) with the use of standout colours! Really shows how imaginative he is! I felt the same with (500) Days of Summer, that one felt like something very special artistically as well! I definitely think Webb is a director to count with in the future!
Even the night scenes are incredibly colourful and lively, there's no way this is trying to be like Nolan's Batman movies.

Most of my issues are with Spider-Man's movements. I just hope the transition from practical to CGI isn't jarring.

+1

Was very impressed with the city in the back ground,Especially the point when he did a back flip through the Air.Really shivered though that

I am also expecting a great police chase scene where he escapes the 500 officers, like the game in PS1 back in the days

It's incredibly noticeable that they are going digital on this. Not pretty.

Which is great, because this use of colours really suits Spider-Man like a glove! I really like how Webb seems not only aiming for a good comic book movie with cool action and a nice story, but also making it actually look completely original and unique

They went incredibly digital, with Avatar, Rise of the Planet of The Apes, The Avengers and they all look great. Don't see what your issue is personally.

The fight sequences with The Lizard are going to be CGI, there is no way of getting round that. The action sequences when he is fighting criminals, will most likely be practical stunts.

Arachnid are animals that have an exoskeleton, a segmented body, and 8 jointed legs that include the spiders and scorpions.

Genome is the entirety of an organism's hereditary information. It is encoded in DNA.

It is clear that peter parker's dad is working on Spider's DNA, so he could be developing a special type of genetically altered Spider.

Richard is working with Spiders not Peter that´s clear for me

Richard is working with Spiders not Peter that´s clear for me

And He (Richard) is not experimenting on his son (Peter), he is performing gene manipulating experiments on various species of Spiders, one of the modified Spiders later on bites Peter Parker when he visits his dad's lab accidently giving him powers.

I thought he could comfortably lift 10 tons. The upper limit is closer to 15 tons, I think but perhaps the comic experts can chime in and elaborate since I'm certainly not one of them.

I just hope that the film will depict Spider Man close to how he is in the comics. There are some outrageous moments in the comics of him holding a building up and a train, but those are isolated events I think.
i just think we really need some massive feats of strength in this one, i dont think raimi's films got across just how truly strong spidey is.

and with regards to the debate on how Peter is gonna get his powers in this one

I dont get one thing in the trailer,Why is he holding a burning SUV??

I mean,if it is burning, chances are whoever is inside is probably dead

*ahem*

I think that Peter's father might be genetically experimenting with different species of Spiders and not his son Peter.

I mean, in his lab he is clearly trying to do some experiment involving different species of spiders, and it is possible that one such genetically altered spider (which is unique) later on bites Peter Parker which gives him his Spider powers.

I was going to say that too.

Still kinda ties in to the whole "not an accident" thing I guess.

I think what people have been doing, myself included, is piecing the dialogue together and making conclusions from it. Stuff like "do you have any idea what you really are?" and "do you think what happened to you was an accident" kind of hints at something that may have happened when Peter was little. Plus they inter-cut it with scenes from his childhood with his dad, so it's not unreasonable to speculate that maybe something happened to Peter that led him to becoming Spidey.

All merely speculation of course. I really couldn't care either way. I am kind of craving a different take on the origin, so I wouldn't hate it.

Touche'.

One time he supported the entire Daily Bugle building.

which is why you should wait and see the movie before whipping out your Sherlock Holmes detective kits

This is Superhero hype forum. Stuff like this has to be discussed and it is fun. Without this...we will go back the dark age (Sept-Dec 2011)

I love it too. When I saw some the horrible set pictures I thought that they had lost their mind.... after saw the trailer I said *Shut up and take my money!*

Yes. I LOVE the background when Gwen was hiding in the locker. It was very beautiful.

Now that makes sense. And that´s what it looks like it´s happening in the trailer.

Did anyone else notice how at 0:02 of the trailer, a web is quickly shown around the light of the Columbia Logo? Nice touch.

I finally found the link where the rumor started. I haven't seen this site before so I am just wondering how trustworthy this site is. It seems like this guy doesnt care for the reboot anyway, so I'm not so sure. What do you guys think?

Before that article even launched, I had put that idea to together right here on these very boards. I even posted about it. It's not hard to figure out. All it took me was the one trailer.

There HAS to be something about his genes!

Think about it: There is a large amount of spiders in the room where he gets bitten. So it's not just one spider that's uniqe... all of them are! So for him to become spider-man, not only the spider has to be special, he has to be special too! Otherwise everyone who walks into this room and gets accidentally bitten would become some sort of spider-man..

Get what I mean? ^^

that´s exactly what i think is going to happen and the Ang Lee stuff is just a rumor

Well I think it would be a bit of a jump to a conclusion to piece it together just because of a couple lines and the chalk board. But in that article the guy mentions that he got it from 3 different sources, so that is why I think it could be more than just speculation. Can anyone confirm if that site has given other info that became true or not?

I don't see any questionable cgi in that trailer at all on the contrary its pretty remarkable specially coming from sony image works who tend to do cartoony cg a lot.

Its really hard to make a cgi spidey that looks real because his moves totally defy physics and he can end up moving too fast or too slow or weightless. But this trailer showed that they got (a first time for me) his moves just right, from the web swinging to the glimpses of his fights with the lizard everything looks great.

Plus consider that there's no practical way of doing the lizard fight scenes the way they move has to be cg.

I always anticipate film scores of films I follow, especially in comic books. Can't wait to hear the hero theme he gives the web slinger.

Defiantly. I'm still waiting to hear that a theme on the big screen that screams spidey. Supes has one, Batman has two (Burtons and Nolans films). I want spidey to have one :-D
