Fantastic. There were some great "Spidey poses" in Raimi's film, but they have certainly nailed his body language in this. I love how they're using actual comic reference, too.

If I had to guess, I'd say no because that was more of a sizzle reel and a lot of the shots weren't finished. It may actually be a scene, similar to NBC showing that first fight between Harry and Peter from Spider-Man 3

Very interesting. It will be awesome if Captain Stacy does indeed die by the Lizard's hand. A lot of people I know are questioning the whole "Gwen knows Peter's identity, how is this going to affect their relationship?"

I wonder if Webb and co are going to write Gwen as a character of logic. Not like Harry Osborn in Spider-Man where no matter how many times Spider-Man did something right, Harry was always like "I still hate you."

Maybe Webb and everyone thought it would be too similar to have Gwen hate Peter for her dad dying.

Do you guys think Peter could be working on the webshooters before he gets bit by the spider? In the trailer when the webshooter explodes on his face, his spider-sense doesnt go off, but he would probably need super strength to pull it off right away so I'm not sure.

It's more likely for them to just do one film than only two. Have you ever heard of films that plan for three and only for two? I haven't.

Plus, yes, they could try to go for a fourth and even fifth as Raimi's film series tried, but...I am betting we will see ANOTHER reboot in 2022

That will depend on the direction a screenwriter or director wants to go. It may go the James Bond route but that also depends on public opinion. If the public likes one direction they'll keep going with it until the public doesn't. Or unless the third movie in this trilogy officially ends it, then you have to find somewhere to reboot it

And the "public" did like Spider-Man 3, even if some don't want to admit it, but a reboot still happened. I think, if anything, it only matters what the studio wants. The studio supposedly loved Spider-Man 3 but still canned a Spider-Man 4.

I'd disagree with you on that. The gross for spider man 3 was incredibly front loaded. It made $150 mill the first weekend and dropped 61% after that. That's not good word of mouth and the CinemaScore is 54% which isn't good either. I wouldn't say it was liked at all, I'd say it was a decisive reaction and studios know that. They look at audience scores and exit polls and when you look at the numbers, those polls play out

With the plan to reboot it. Those plans came out. Plus they had a relationship with Sam, who acknowledged the films issues and wanted to correct them. They were commissioning scripts before he was even officially signed on to direct. He was only signed on for three flicks just like the cast. And one of those writers commissioned was James Vanderbilt who wrote two scripts for them, one of them being a reboot. Now according to Sam, at least in interviews and on paper, he realized he said all he needed and they were trying to put a square peg into a round hole so he did what any artist would do at that point: move on

Edit: now, I'm not disagreeing with you on studios wanting to make money, that's their business because audiences hated 2 fast 2 furious, didn't stop them doing a third one. Die Another Day was the highest grossing Bond flick but the reaction seemed very negative...4 years later we got Casino Royale
