How about the Punisher? He would be awesome,He would be a misinformed hero hunting for Spiderman, add a Psychological villian like KingPin/Mysterio(Buy him from Fox please Sony),That should be it for ASM2

Webb can introduce someone like Venom in ASM3 had have him kill off Gwen Stacy(Dont want GG or DocOck to be repeated)

I FIGURED IT OUT! I figured out how to get the symbiote, and MJ and the Night Gwen Stacy Died in one trilogy! We pull a Harry Potter for AM2 or ASM3. part one, AND part 2!:D

I'll be sure to tell you what I thought about the movie as soon as I see it, looking forward to RIM's opinion too!

how did you get tickets to the premiere? if you dont mind me asking. I'd love to go to the one in London!

Booking started this morning, went on FNAC.com and got tickets, but it's in Paris and I'm pretty sure it's a worldwide premiere, and Andy, Emma, Rhys, Mark Webb, Avi Arad and another producer are there, I'm so excited.

I lost it and got the "privileged" ticket, VIP entrance, etc, this is gunna be gud!

I knew there was another picture that the new poster reminded of other than web of shadows.

That would be epic in scope but be prepared for a s**t-storm from haters complaining about re-using stuff we've seen before.
Just two posts above where I found this one, you said previous villains shouldnt be reused, aside from painfully having to redo Goblin, and that they need to go to the end of the line. :cornfused:

I'm very excited for the villain possibilities in future films. Lizard is the one villain I've wanted for years, so now anything is good for me after this film. Personally I'm leaning towards Electro and/or Mysterio (please, for the love of god, no Venom). It's a pity they used Sandman in SM3 =(

I'm also looking forward to seeing how Webb plans to adapt the Green Goblin. Despite the silly green suit in SM1, I thought Dafoe was a great Norman, and it'll be cool to see who succeeds him. Seeing "The Night Gwen Stacy Died" adapted on the big screen will be a true fanboy moment =D

There's got to be an awesome Green Goblin in this trilogy. For other villains though I think electro could work.

I think the problem with some of the Villains like Mysterio and Kraven is there costumes would look pretty cringy in real life based on the comics. How good do you think a bowl over a head is really going to look for a villain? Even Electro's little head piece would look pretty stupid and something like what they did in SSM would be better.

Best villains for me would be - Electro, Vulture, Shocker and Carnage.
I'd like Carnage to be there with no ties to Peter in anyway but just causing chaos and seeing Spider-man as something to mess around with.

I'll assume you're not referring to this Electro costume. :oldrazz:

Anyway, I'd rather have Shocker. I just fancy his outfit more. And the gauntlets are cool too. Aside from that, a new Green Goblin is a must. I wouldn't mind a new take on Doc Ock either, but that's treading on dangerous ground considering how loved Spider-Man 2 is.

An Electro battle in Times Square...chamon. How awesome would that be? Awesome is how awesome.

Electro would probably be the obvious next go-to villain. I suspect throughout the series they'll all have some connection to Oscorp tying them all together though.

This exactly.

The outfit will definitely need to be altered. I liked what they did in SSM, where they made the electricity emanating from his head take the shape of his mask. Not saying I'd want that in the film but it was a nice little trick.

If they went with Mysterio, they could easily use the classic look, or at least pay homage to it....a guy with a background in special effects and the like is bound to have a few cheesy b-movie costumes :woot:

If they decide to make Venom the villian in this series,I hope they tap in the 'Our' persona, thats just badass

This is kinda off topic but I am getting kinda worried about the movie. Now, I am not worried about the quality of the movie, but more worried about how it will preform and the general audience's reaction to it. I bring this up because when I saw the teaser trailer with Captain America, the second trailer with Ghost Rider, and this last trailer with Avengers, it got ZERO reactions from the crowds. A few people just said " The origin story AGAIN??". I am now wondering if them going with the origin story again is gonna hurt the movie in the long run. I still believe that should have just did the origin story during the opening title sequence with flashbacks and clips instead of covering it in the film again. Regardless, I am still looking forward to this. I just hope it doesn't flop or anything because this movie has the most to prove out of the big three comic book movies this summer.

Its got a 17+ day run before TDKR comes out,Avengers crossed 1 billion in 19 days so if this movie is as good as the trailers promise,it could easily gross around 500ME before 20July and 700-800 overall.Thats good enough and sets a nice platform for the sequel

it won't flop by any means, I mean this IS Spider-Man. Also don't forget that for alot of kids this will be their first Spider-Man movie, or at least first they get to see on the big screen (+3D as well is just going to boost it) but I think it will definately be the dark horse of the summer, maybe not have a great box office, but hopefuly have great reviews and great word of mouth.

Agreed. I like what they did with him in Ultimate Alliance too, ala

I remember someone did a manip of Topher Grace as him, before we knew he was cast as Eddie Brock, anyone else remember it? that looked pretty sweet.

I don't think it will make as much money as Avengers did. The general audience isn't really thrilled about the origin story being told again so soon, but I think it will make a good amount of money (hopefully).

Definately, I don't think anyone could take him seriously if he was wearing leopard tights or worse...a leotard lol

I think a cross between what they did with him in the Ultimate line and what your suggesting would be perfect. I did have a scooch on deviantart a while ago and found this though....which would be perfect just swap the leggins for mercinary pants. (its kinda big lol)

Dude, every audience is different though. I know it's tough for us as humans to do, but experiences don't always translate across the board. I saw the midnight showing of the Avengers and the crowd loved the trailer..clapped when it started, yelled and clapped when it ended. Saw it AGAIN when the mrs dragged me to see battleship this weekend and they loved it too and laughed at the appropriate parts. And like Scarletless said, it is spider-man and the avengers and Spidey will both have a huge influx of kids in them. Don't worry about the flick, you just gotta remember every crowd is different, which is why the "general audience" argument is crazy to me because every audience is different and everyone will react differently

Villians for a sequel?

Rather than do Goblin, Ock and Venom (done already), I think they should simply introduce a non-Goblin Norman Osborn (for future movies if this actually does well) and then have the following:

1. Rhino or Shocker in a bit part. No origin, just a fight to open the movie. Have one of them robbing a bank and get taken out by Spider-Man in what is obviously not their first encounter. It will be great action and keep the comic fans happy.

2. The main villian could be any one of the following:

- Kraven: Mercenary that comes to New York to hunt down Spider-Man. I like the reality TV star angle from Ultimate SM, but give him a dark edge.

- Electro: Visually a good villian and can be written powerful enough to be a real threat

- Mysterio: Big risk because he can look cheesy, but something where Spidey questions reality would be good.

- Scorpion: Have Jameson take a thug to Oscorp to make someone that can take out Spider-Man. Biggest risk is that he looks too much like Lizard (green guy with a tail)

- Vulture: One of my faviorites from the early ASM issues.

I guess your right. The crowds I saw the trailers with just sucked lol.

Sam Rami was really fighting for Vulture in his Spidey movies. In the early stages of production for Spider Man 3, there was talks to shoot 3 and 4 back to back and Vulture and Sandman where to be the villians in part 3 and Venom and New Goblin in Part 4. Personally, I am not a big Vulture fan so it didn't bother me too much. But I did like the aspect of them shooting part 3 and 4 back to back.
