Aziz, you're a very confusing poster.

Would you be happy if this movie was on a budget of 3 dollars or something?

As far as I'm concerned, bigger budget = better looking effects, etc.

Not really sure as to how it could be a bad thing.

sometimes small budgets force the director to think outside the box and use practicle effects where normally he would have used CG.
that said the big budget at least shows sony has confidence in the project.

I honestly think that they've used practical effects whenever possible for this movie. Hell, we know that.

If the budget was something like $180 million, we would have gotten a cartoony Lizard, cartoony Spider-Man... or both.

And agreed.

Not entirely, Mortal Kombat movie had half the budget the first Batman movie had, and they made Goro look human enough and monster enough (not CGI), they could make it better than cartoony

While its better than cartoony CG, it still looks a little off, it's on the opposite end and looks like a toy. Besides, you can't really compare him to a 9 foot lizard-man who (I'm guessing) will move fast and be somewhat agile.

Not to mention the effects for Spidey...

Well, that movie above had $20 million budget, it had wire works, new environment, etc, looked pretty decent back in its time

Don't see why a comic book movie with mostly buildings you see over and over everyday needs that huge a budget its given

Well this is new..so you have issue that this movie has too big of a budget now?

What you don't seem to get is, in a Spider-Man movie, where a large amount of GOOD effects are needed to make the character look and move convincingly, a large budget is needed.

There's that^, effects to make the Lizard look and move convincingly amongst other things. Such as green screens, wirework, etc.

It's nowhere near as simple as you're making it out to be.

And again, why are you acting as though a BIG budget is a bad thing? That's genuinely the first time I've read such a reaction. O_O

As I said before, bigger budget = better effects, amongst better other things.

Well answer yes or no, but don't start being a smart-ass.

The budget in particular on TASM is so that The Lizard doesn't look super unreal and take viewers out of the experience

"Tehy spend tooo much money on teh spidermans!!!" :argh:

I feel like I've stepped into the Twilight Zone.

Lol!

I'm really shocked that he's making it out to be a bad thing. O_o

As far as I'm concerned, we're getting better looking battles/better looking characters/better effects in general and a few scenes that might not have even been in the movie had the budget been lower.

Yeah no matter what people just need something to complain about.

Maybe he has Green Lantern on the mind.

The infamous black crotch discussion of 2010...

The shocking discussion of whether or not the Lizard's dong would be showing in 2011...

And now the not so amazing discussion of why a bigger budget is a bad/good thing in 2012.

Oh, Hype. <3
