IMO, they should have made it that the football just hits the post. Showing it go that far and hitting it hard (without bending it) shows his strength greatly without being over-the-top. But since it's not like that, I'm fine with it. It's just a goofy little scene, definitely not bad as some of the stuff Raimi came up with.

I am looking forward to this film and I have good feeling it is going to be heaps better then Raimi's films. But i dislike stuff like that. If this was in a Raimi film you would not defend it as such.

Who's to say it's even in the final movie? TV Spots feature a lot of different and alternate footage that isn't in the movie.

Do you not see how your argument just changed completely? From it isn't that bad, to maybe it isn't in the movie.

God enough with the nitpicking.

What nitpicking?

I like the scene, and I think people are going crazy. I saw it again, it doesn't even bend that much. Jesus people.

I'm just shooting out possibilities. I like it, but maybe it won't be in the movie? I don't know what to say anymore! :wall:

I think if anyone were going to condemn a movie by nitpicking a little cheesy scene, no one would be saying that the previous Spider-man films were great or any other comic book movie for that matter.

Really. THis movie is going to totally suck because of that cheesy football post scene!

No matter what they do, there will ALWAYS be someone who complains. Honestly, that scene is a second long, and its not going to bother me. I think its funny actually.

It is not simply the bending of the goalpost. You are missing the bigger picture.

It isn't going to ruin the movie, but the defending is so off point.

You're complaining about an insignificant scene in which a goal post is bent by a football. A segment which is probably no longer than 2 seconds long. It's meant to be a corny, but funny scene displaying Peter's strength. That's all. Sure I can understand if you don't like the scene but you're making a rather big deal over nothing and just drawing out an argument.

If it were completely insignificant, why is it in the film?

I don't want blatant disregard to the need for Peter to hide his abilities. It reminds me of Peter's ridiculous displays in Spider-Man.

I don't think it was as bad as the webbing of the lunch tray. It's even with punching Flash 10 feet across the room.

I think it is as bad. He bent a goalpost with a football. Again it is not the scene itself, but what it represents.

I never said completely insignificant. Just insignificant because from what I can tell, it's only purpose is to be a "ha-ha" moment at the end of a scene between Gwen and Peter on the bleachers. By the way, how can you tell if this scene even really exposes Peter's abilities? There are also several other scenes in the film that will do that as well so be prepared for Peter sticking onto the ceiling of a subway car and Peter jumping onto a lamp post in broad day light.

The scene is like Spider-Man web zipping the Pizza before the guy eats it in Spider-Man 2. It's funny. Enjoy it.

We got some Body Snatchers on the internet completely devoid of comedic emotions.

Noob alert! Finally registered to SHH after keeping up to date with the Spider-man section of the forum for years. Very excited to be able contribute :yay:

You and I sir, will forever be friends. I don't care what we disagree with in the future, because as a fellow Wu head, we HAVE to be friends. My kids will also be wu tang fans, I don't care what they do or say, if they don't listen to Wu, I may have to disown some of them or just tell them to hangout with their mom more than me because I'll be disappointed.

Then fellow WU friend, I shall call you friend, haha.

Was hoping they'd be at Rock the Bells.
