I know that that footage got a great reaction and yes, taht is why I too think the film will be great especially considering to Nolan-esque "Storytelling first" method of thinking they are using but I don't think its an excuse for people barraging people with hat comments because THEY think the film will be great just because of one thing. IT COULD BE CRAP FOR ALL WE KNOW! Now, it more than likely won't nut you get the point.

True, true. :)

But for the majority of people on here, the reboot has more things going for it than against it. (Great cast, great story and so on...)

Spoilerish dialogue between Pete and Gwen (Once again taken from @Josh_Wilding):

Webb agonises for a second ("I don't want to blow my wad here"), then concedes and cues up a cute, winsome cladestine encounter between Peter and Gwen that includes some rat-a-tat dialogue that wouldn't be out of place in a screwball comedy. "You should see the other guy," sighs Parker. "The other guy in this case being a giant mutant lizard."

Very very cool lol..typical Peter line

agreed. Venom was everywhere in the 80s and 90s he was the most popular villain. Pretty much what people look forward to in a spidey movie is GG and venom. Venom is gonna be the Bane of this reboot.

Remeber. They were trying so hard to keep him a secret from most from the GA.

OK, maybe we are both right. I'm not from the US, so I don't know how popular Venom is up there.

Can someone tell me what they think of the spoilerish dialogue? Is it a big plot spoiler?

No. It's a quip about the Lizard. Apologies to the guy who lives under a rock who didn't know that the villain is the Lizard.

This reminds me a lot of Ultimate Peter, although I'm sure 616 Peter would say pretty much the same. :funny:

I'm guessing this is when Peter shows up in Gwen's room looking like ****.

It may possibly allude to
Gwen knowing Pete is Spidey.

Yep.

I wonder if that that's when she finds out, though. Or will he tell her before he gets his ass handed to him, earlier on in the movie?

I'm guessing it'll play out something like this. Peter shows up at Gwen's house/in her room looking like hell.

GWEN: Peter? What the hell happened to you?!

PETER: Ah, you should see the other guy...the other guy in this case being a giant mutant lizard."

I think it could be similar to Ultimate Spider-Man where Mary-Jane knew about his powers and identity as Spider-man from the beginning. Which would be great for the movie becuase we could avoid the whole "I can't be with you to protect you" storyline we had in the previous series.

True! This is what I'm thinking'll happen.

From everything i have seen this looks like Ultimate Spiderman the movie which sounds great to me.

Agreed. Borriwing mostly from the Ultimate allows this film to be different from Raimi's yet still be faithful to the comics, which isn't hard because those films didn't borrow well from the comics anyway.

Well they've changed a few things such as Gwen being Peter's first love interest etc. But other than that, yeah. I love the direction they're taking this.

It seems to be pulling from both amazing and ultimate which is what a good adaption should do. Obviously they can't please everyone but there is a lot of good material to pull from both in order to streamline the movies

Gwen was Peter's First Love from the comics, so its proper they do it that way this time around since Raimi didn't do it. Actually, this film has so far shown it will be WAAAAY more faithful to the comics.

The movie feels like the Power & Responsibility arc of USM with Peter finding his dad's stuff like in the Venom arc.

I thought we already knew that Gwen knew since...well...
