This is a continuation thread, the old thread is [split]348701[/split]
Yeah, that's possible. I mean, these days movie companies really need to keep us guessing. It wouldn't surprise me if some Viral Marketing thing pops up.
That's exactly what I was thinking. Some Daily Bugle site talking about the current situation in New York, maybe even articles talking about the appearance of Spider-Man, but no pictures. Just rumors and stuff.Well, they do have more than a year before the movie releases.
I wouldn't be surprised if DailyBugle.com started popping up.
I'm just gonna ignore it. A lot of false info is in that article. But what really gets me about the article is it says The Spiderman Rebbot is a New Sequel to Spiderman 3 and yet they talk about NORMAN who died in the 1st film
Nothing is adding up in that article
It wouldn't surprise me either...but I highly doubt this is the case.Yeah, that's possible. I mean, these days movie companies really need to keep us guessing. It wouldn't surprise me if some Viral Marketing thing pops up.
I beginning to worry even more than before....But what really gets me about the article is it says The Spiderman Rebbot is a New Sequel to Spiderman 3 and yet they talk about NORMAN who died in the 1st film

I'd like to propose an unlikely but theoretically possible scenario for this Green Goblin rumor:
What if all the Lizard stuff was a misdirection? Some directors - most recently that I remember, Michael Bay - have talked about how they need to keep the internet guessing by misinformation campaigns and such.
Again, I don't believe it, but might be worth batting around - at least until Comic Con when, you would think, Sony will make an official announcement.
I don't know if it's ever been done, but I know Michael Bay threatened to do it with Revenge of the Fallen. I didn't follow RotF news, so I couldn't tell you if he followed through on his threat.Wow that is absolutely amazing! That might explain why they havent officially confirmed the villain. Rhys Ifans is the villain, but which villain may be the surprise. Has any thing like this been done before?

Agreed. Also, didn't the announcement of Rhys' casting say that his character needed warmth or compassion or something along those lines? Doesn't sound like Green Goblin to me.Well.. If this is true, it would actually tie two things together:
The claim that this Reboot is based on the Ultimates and the fact that Norman actually battled Parker in his high school in the Ultimate comics...
But it sounds like a huge stretch to me TBH...
It's the same thing that happened to The Incredible Hulk. Everyone involved was particularly gunshy to call it a full-fledged reboot, but it's pretty clear it was a separate entity.
Well, I certainly would be quite happy if they suddently pulled out Electro instead of Lizzie.
I know why it is. I simply don't agree with the logic behind it. If The Amazing Spider-Man doesn't bomb (or even if it does), we can assume they're going to throw another trilogy at us. And if I'm getting a trilogy, I expect some consistency. And the only way to achieve consistency is through continuity, and every continuity has a starting point. All I ask is that they give me a starting point. Did Peter fight Green Goblin, Doc Ock, Sandman, and Venom already, or did he not? Should I expect MJ and the Osborns? The whole "loose continuation" thing works for the comics (and the Bond franchise) because they're essentially standalone. But the prevailing thought with a trilogy is that you're going to have an overarching story involved, in some way, shape, or form. You still haven't figured out why that is
That would be a dick move if they were teasing us with all this awesome Lizard info and it turned out to be another villain
