The Amazing Spider-Man: The Game - Part 2

As long as there is good replayability, I don't think the length matters too much.

Eh, co-op is something I really don't care about, especially not in a Spidey game!

If I'd want a DLC that has something else than costumes etc., it's to be able to play some levels that are directly taken from the movie, so you have a chance to fight against Lizard on top of Oscorp for example.

Also, an arena mode where you have combat challenges, but also get to face a boss or something would be cool!

And, about everything looking great in this game, it really does so far. However, what the demo doesn't show is the lenght of the game, the quality of the story, the variety on the levels and enemies and so on. If the game is too short or lacks in variety, then it unfortunately doesn't help much that everything else is great.

The demo is probably only about 5-10 minutes long so it wouldn't answer those questions anyway. Most of those things, length of the game, variety in levels and enemies, etc. will be answered in time. Like Pat said, the length of the game doesn't really bother me as much as the quality. Replayability is the key and with great gameplay comes great replay.

That's what I meant! So, in other words, things may look perfect so far but there's alot we won't know until much later that may cause disappointment.

To me, a good lenght is pretty important to the replayability if you ask me.

It's kinda hard at this point to determine how long the game will be, but IMO, I think the game can be completed within 8-10 hours, not factoring in side quests and random crimes.

Yeah but I'm not trying to say that this game will be short or something. All I mean is that it can look perfect on the demos but there's always the risk that it ends up being a disappointment still.

However, lets forget that! I'm super thrilled for this game! One thing that may speak for the game's lenght is that there will be plenty of villains! I look forward to see who they will be!

How long was SM3 and WoS? I mean I know they felt super long because they were such a damn drag to play through, but I'd assume ASM would be around the same length.

I've never played SM3 but WoS was pretty long I think! Too bad the game sucked!

Edit: Maybe it felt longer than it actually was

There's always the possibility the game may end up being a disappointment. It's still way too early to know. I am trying to remain positive though mainly based on what we've seen so far and like you I am feeling super thrilled. A free roam Spiderman game with Arkham inspired combat and gameplay mechanics?...sold! :woot:

It's all relative though isn't it? In WoS it probably took me a lot longer to finish the game than say the average player cause I spent so much time collecting all those spider emblems to upgrade my speed. I'd guess that the average playthrough was about 8-10 hours though. A very painful 8-10 hours of course, :cwink:

I really don't remember how long it took me to finish SM3...it's been so long since I've played it. I bet Aziz would know, lol.

Web of Shadows can be completed within 8-10 hours, I believe Spider-Man 3 was in the 7-8 hour range. Due to the huge amounts of mediocrity in both games, it makes them seem alot longer, you're not really interested in seeing the conclusion to the game's story, you just want to see the credits roll and call it a day.

By the way he speaks of that game, Iv come to the conclusion he actually hasn't played it.

well wasn't there a fiasco a while back where he stated that he watched a bunch gameplay videos?

LOL yea. I think it was with SD. Its a sore subject for him. So i can't wait to hear him explode once he reads all this.

lol yeah, he'll prolly go into his spill about beating WoS numerous times

Well he can have that over me. I can honestly say i wasn't able to complete that game. I tried man, i really did. I think i got to he part where you first meet MJ and was just like, nope, thats its, thats enough, can't take it.

I bit the bullet and went through the whole game, didn't enjoy it at all. I think it was one of those moments where I had nothing else to play at the time.

Yea at the time i didn't either and on top of that i was able to play the game for free, yet i still couldn't get through it.

I beat the game once, then when I heard you could get another ending by replaying it again I thought "Hell no!".

The worst Spidey game I have ever played tbh

That game was just so......meh lol. Luke Cage showing Spider-Man how to use HIS OWN powers.....where is the logic in that? Wolverine fighting Spider-Man and the only way to stop the attacks is by answering trivia questions? Seriously!?!?!?!?!

WoS is actually the only SM game i didn't play at launch. I didn't play WoS until like right before SD came out.

I played thru WoS twice (gulp) just so I could see both endings. It was rough. The one very redeemable thing about WoS is the web swinging. It had great feel to it and the animations were awesome. As a matter of fact, when we were getting linear Spidey games with SD and EoT, I would occassionally pop in WoS and go for a swing. That's all though--just for maybe like 10 minutes or so...just to get it out of my system.

lol, this interview with Dee Brown had me cracking up! Check it out. Too funny. Even the hip hop gamers are down with Spidey. :woot: Some really good info in this interview though.

Edit: Dee also mentions there will be DLC for this game.

Maybe first play through, the rest will be shorter

Pretty short actually

4 -5 hours if I don't mess around for extra fun

Completed 36 times and proud of it, loved it more the more I played it and finding more and more tricks to it. Now I don't feel like playing it, might leave it till next year
Do you recall watching it feels mediocre? Playing it is lots of fun?

In SM3, I watched reviews, awful reviews, can't agree with lots of the points people complain about due how  kind of stupid and moronic they are

SD is a sore thumb, it's monotonous and dragging, it's more suitable as a cartoon to watch than a game to play, and I was happy watching it as a cartoon
I did play the game eventually, Deadpool and Juggernaut levels were unexpected pleasure though, and stealth in NOIR was fun while it lasted

lol yeah, he'll prolly go into his spill about beating WoS numerous times
I sadly finished that turd more than four times, tried to get all four endings, and I did
You remember how I mocked Spider-Man the finger puppet there? And you laughed at how I described Luke Cage's talk to Peter

(Darn, I said what you said I'd probably say. Game still is a turd)

With Web of Shadows, I wholeheartedly agree, can't share the love a lot felt toward it
Some of the mechanics are fun, but the charged jump doesn't go higher than two stories up, it made my face cringe. Leave the web line and fly, but this is as high as you can jump

I managed to endure it cause it's Spider-Man, I'm the kind of geek to enjoy everything on my favorite character, even the bad stuff I BASH
