Did you guys see Smythe's bio?
I didn't know that about him. I thought it was pretty interesting. I never liked the character, but now I hate him a lot less.

In the comics, Smythe was an old man hired by Jameson to make robots to kill Spider-Man. He ended up getting cancer from working on the robots and went to kill Jameson.

In the TV show he was an Oscorp scientists son who was bound to a wheelchair and ended up working for the Kingpin after his father's death.

In the game, they just mixed the two.

Oh, I thought that was his bio from the comics. I only knew him from the animated series.

I prefer what they did for the game.

Are you mixing Al with Spencer? The old man from the comics who offered his solution to fight Spider-Man twice and failed, for some reason he was hired by Jonah two times after Jonah called him a failure and stated not wanting to see him again
The old man from the cartoon who built the black widow was that guy, Spencer

His son is the guy confined to the wheelchair, Alaistar, he was introduced in ASM Annual 19, was fat and working for Kingpin, had daddy issues, and was walking on his two feet before being confined to the wheelchair
In the comics he was the guy who made himself the ultimate Slayer, and wasn't forced to it by anyone but his desire to take vengeance on Spidey

I'm actually surprised they are using Black Cat in TASM. My contention was that Beenox would not be using any villains in this game that were in their previous two. I stand corrected. I guess maybe they want to actually try and do her some justice seeing as they pretty much screwed her over in EoT.

Yeah, Beenox has had a considerable amount of time with Spider-Man, all we can do at this point is hope and pray the game turns out to be good. Arkham City IMO is good inspiration for crafting a game, hell, it seems like a few upcoming action games are straying away from their old engine and going more in favor of what Batman had to offer, Sleeping Dogs is doing it and it looks really good to me. Welp, we got about a month and some change before the game releases, can't wait to see what other updates they come out with before the game releases.

Yea i agree, I'm getting a little tired of seeing her as well. Im interested in seeing her depiction in this more 'realistic' setting tho.

I agree about Black Cat and I hoped for the ally to be Prowler in this game!

Also, am I the only one who thinks she looks really bad in this game? She looks WAY too old! The suit is cool but her face and those glasses make it the worst version of her ever, look-wise IMO.

Maybe she's a semi mutate, given powers, but not changed in physical look

It's much better than the design they had for her in EoT. She looked like a skank. She still has the sex appeal of course, but her model in TASM has more class.
