It's going to be automatic. Why would an manual reload mechanic be dumb? Do you find the fact that you have to manually reload weapons in fps games dumb? I personally think it'd be a cool feature...

In a FPS, its not dumb, in the case of Gears of War, its actually useful to nail the Active Reload because it gives the player a boost in damage that you deal, but in the case of Spidey, I really don't see the benefit of having Active Reload, but that's just me.

Was this article posted? Doesnt really tell us anything new. States that Activision didn't comment on a possible PC version and the individual looking at the game didn't find it very impressive visually. Obviously the city doesnt look or feel as good as say a GTA IV. Everything else we've heard before.

I don't remember seeing that article but thanks for posting it. This reviewer sounds like he is riding the fence on TASM and makes some good points. I wonder though, if the less lively feel of NYC, the graphics and some Web Rush animations were a bit less than what he would have liked were due to the fact that it was a rough demo? It's difficult to say without actually seeing the damn thing for ourselves but I'd like to think there will be a greater polish on the finished product. Dee stated that they are working on a Web Rush trailer next and hopefully we get to see that soon.

I never assumed they would. Why would their alt costume incorporate the belt from the movie version. Im sure their alts will be as comic close as they can.

Yeah I think we all probably assumed this one about the alts but it's still nice that we got the actual confirmation.

I really want to see the new game trailer oh sooo badly and I like everything that i've seen and heard about this game

Anyone found a manip with Scarlet-Spider costume on this figure?

Some new Tweets from Dee Brown:

* Web strike combat move will be available thru Web rush and you will also have attack modifiers on landing a strike

* Civilian AI: They will approach you on the street and take pictures with their cell phones, ask you for an autograph, and/or try to sell you insurance and other things not mentioned.

Lol, that's hilarious.:D:up:

I think the thing with the web strike was there in the Rhino trailer

Seriously? They finally did that upgrade to civvies AI? Sweet tweet

I think so too. It looks like there's a web strike going on in these screenshots.

Seriously.
If he is, then I think he's about to get hammered. It can't be that easy to strike Rhino while he's running.

Web Strike is one of the things I liked in Web of Shadows. I wouldn't mind to have it again, here.

Dee said on Twitter that the Web Strike will have attack modifiers to land the strike. I'm not sure what that means, exactly, but you may be able to change up the attack by using the slow-down version of the web rush.

You might be able to aim at his legs

That's awesome!! Hahaha I love the insurance stuff! :D

I don't think it will amount to much other than different lines of dialogue. The insurance thing might seem funny now, but after the 500th time of hearing someone go 'Say Spidey, do you need Insurance?' we might have another 'Lost Balloon' situation on our hands :P

Nothing will be worse than all those awful side missions in Spiderman 2

I saved mentioning this, but you have to ruin the mood so soon
I'm glad I swing high more than standing on the street

Aside from the goofy "Balloon" and saving people from sinking ships, and fighting mecha-suits, those missions are copied to USM
Informants to tell you what's near you is the piss painful thing

yeah, I love it when a building is collapsing, and a guy calls you and says "this building is collapsing!"

You can't avoid repetition. It will probably get old at some point, there's no denying that but it all depends on how often that line about insurance happens. I'm sure there are more lines of dialogue...that was the only one mentioned.

Did it say that it would be that interactive? What if it's more like the civilians from GTA who spout random sayings as you go past?

All that info came from a Tweet posted by the studio head, Dee Brown. But it's also been confirmed by Dee and those reviewing the demo that civilians will also say stuff as you swing close to the street level too, i.e. "That's so cool!"

Yea it boils down to how long can u hold off the repetition. A game like GTA will have u go through the entire story and u might only hear a pedestrian repeat the same thing once or twice, but that's with a game thats super high in detail. We know ASM won't be. I'm sure that'll be one of the knocks on the game, unfortunately it just not something Beenox can do in a 2 yrs dev time.

They can do something like it in this time, if they use a proper base and don't build it from scratch

I agree, for a Spider-Man game, 2 years is a sufficient development frame. GTA on the other hand is like 2+ years, therefore they have more than enough time to implement various voice samples for pedestrians. Spider-Man has a decent amount of detail, but nowhere near the level of detail GTA has, can't really say I fault Beenox for that, because TASM Spider-Man film was announced like 2 years ago, so they've only had that much time to work on the game. At any rate, I doubt you'll be hearing the same amount lines of dialogue over and over again, at least during a playthrough of the whole game, and on top of that, you're means of travel is by swinging, so unless you ditch that and decide to walk around, chances are you'll hear repeated lines :awesome:

Swinging high makes me ignore pedestrians most of the time, not usually interested in them and their repeated lines
