It's gonna be a great couple of days, great stuff so far!:awesome::up:

Why is this guy imitating Steven Colbert?

There will be a PC port, yay for me, sadly it won't be the PS3 version

Thing is, when you could attach web on buildings (Spider-Man 2 and USM for exemple) it was good because the city was made for that.

Now look at Spider-Man 3. City more realistic, larger streets etc... and the swinging was crap because most of the time you get somewhere where you can't attach the web... and just fall. It was reallistic, but not fun.
But that's what helped to make you feel like Spider-Man. When you got into an area that had no tall buildings, you were forced to readjust your thinking and come up with an alternate way to get around -- just like the real Spider-Man would have to do in a similar situation. Dee Brown has stated that one of Beenox's primary goals with the new game was for the player to really feel what it's like to be Spider-Man. If I can anchor my webs to clouds, I'm gonna be VERY disappointed.

Dee has stated that for the most part the webs will attach to buildings but for the sake of gameplay there will be times when they do not. I guess you can prep yourself for being disappointed.

It does take away from some of the reality but it's not a deal breaker for me.

Just imagine they're attaching to the Helicarrier ;)

Not a deal breaker for me either. I'm a huge Spidey fan and I will be getting this game regardless. But it will seriously detract from my enjoyment of the game, since I've been waiting for an enjoyable yet realistic web-swinging engine equal or better to SM2 for years.

so far i'm liking everything i've seen so far. aside from black cat.. she looks like a shield agent/business woman :( i guess it's better than her last beenox design... but bleh

...nudging me even closer to possibly pre-ordering this game. It's really starting to shape up very nicely. Several of my concerns have been addressed with very positive results.

Looks like perhaps all this waiting for gameplay videos and what not is because they really wanted to make sure there was a good amout of polish on it because Beenox has a lot to prove with this one and they want to make sure it comes through as a well rounded product.

I really enjoyed the realism of the swinging experience that we got in SM2 but imo the best gameplay experience for swinging was in WoS. The swinging in TASM looks like it will be an improvement upon WoS and that has me excited.

I've been excited for this game for the longest time and it was very frustrating not having any real proof to back up those feelings. It's great that with each little bit that is coming out about the game...we're getting more and more proof.

Pretty great interview, its good to see that Beenox for the most part is really trying to rectify alot of the problems with the previous game and deliver something that's pretty damn good and not mediocre. I had my doubts last week after seeing the combat footage, but for the most part, I'm sold on the game. This game may not be a masterpiece by any means, but it may get that sour taste of the last movie game out of our mouths.

I don't get it either. What's the point?
Maybe it shows some interest on Beenox's part to work with the symbiote in the second or third game. I'd like that if it isn't explored in the movie.

Also, I'm surprised I like this Scorpion. I usually nitpick on these kind of changes, but for some reason I don't understand, I liked this one.

I could not agree with you more! Except for the possiblity of cloud-swinging, I'm very pumped for this game.

probably because they're sticking to the "animal/man" hybrid theme so we already sorta expect this stuff

What's the point? It says Otto and "black goo" are in neither game or movie..... Lol. Nice take. But I really care not about an online bio with neither references in game or film....

This kind of stuff has to be approved by the director and writers of the film. They wouldn't have approved of this information being included if they weren't planning on doing anything else with it in the future.

With all this symbiote talk, TBH, i'm not really a big fan of the symbiotes anymore but I wouldn't mind seeing Beenox's take on the symbiotes in the film verse. Hell, I think it would be cool if this game becomes very successful it could branch off and become it's own continuity taking place within the world of the film. It doesn't necessarily have to follow the film directly as shown by this current game, and hell they can have sublots that tie to events in the upcoming film should another one be greenlit, just my idea.

That's not true. The Rami films videogames weren't allowed to use potential likely villains. That's why doc ock wasn't in the first game, why shocker was in most, and why we never got electro.

There's plenty of villains in this game that will never be on film. Sure they're approved... But approved as not to be used as spoilers for future installments

Not really. I think it's more of the case that they may plan on using those things, not that they actively are. Also, I don't think it's necessarily the director and/or writers that get a say in how the game interacts with the movie. It sounds more like a studio thing, I don't see Webb or the writers being able to direct the minutiae like movie tie-in products like that.

Edit: Basically what Spideyboy is saying.

If anything it's a 99.99% chance of what's not going to be in a movie.

I agree, that's a decision that's solely made by the developers. With the Raimi film games, I think the developers chose to go with villains that would be more contemporary with the world that Raimi created in his films which is why we got Shocker, Vulture, Kraven, etc. With the exception of Kraven, the other villains were mainly guys in suits or contraptions they made to further fuel their dumb asses to being "bad guys". Marc Webb's version of Spidey seems to be breaking that trend and using more of the "villains who's appearance severely changes just as well as their attitiude" which may be why we're getting "cross-species" villains and gi-normous Spider-Slayers.

I think it's too soon to tell if Webb will have a "villain theme" raimi really didn't either (sandman and venom for instance) I think both directors are just staying true to the villains origins the best they can

Basically beenox was like.... "spideys got alot of animal villains, villains created by science, and several who are scientist themselves. Let's merge all that"
