The Amazing Spider-Man: The Game - Part 3

I like in the interviews that Dee Brown used inspiration from the previous films in terms of how Spidey should move about. Sure wish Activision would get in the habit of releasing demos of Spidey games, that would have held me over nicely until the actual game comes out. After looking through my games, I was quite surprised to see I still own USM for xbox, so guess what I'm gonna do? :awesome:

Enjoy
It's still a good fun game

Hah, thats not a bad idea. I think i still have that one as well.

Yeah, guys, my expectations are completely in line with yours. I am not expecting a ground-breaking title but rather a game that ends up being one of the great, if not the greatest, Spidey titles. It's like Dee said, this game is the next evolution in Spider-man games and should be the start of what hopes to be a string of quality Spidey video games. Honestly, more than anything, what I truly hope for outside of getting a very awesome Spidey game, is that Beenox finally gets some credit. In my eyes, if this game pans out to be what we hope for, Beenox deserves some street cred as a solid developer. Not a great one yet...but they should be allowed some room to breathe a bit. Beenox has climbed what seemed to be an impossible hill of barriers in making this game and they deserve aknowledgement for their accomplishments.

Oh yea no doubt. Any developer that can overcome the constraints of making a movie based tie in, deserve credit. There are VERY few developers out there that can make that work.

Hopefully this game goes down in the books as one of the better movie tie-ins. Beenox had alot working against them, Spidey's spotty track record in games and the overall fact that movie tie in games usually don't live up to hype. I have a good feeling TASM may break that trend

I really want to see what the alternate costumes are. If it's true that the universal pre order bonus is alternate suits, I pray one of them is 616. I would adore being able to play through the whole game in the best suit around.

OMG, I hated Web of Shadows a lot, it rose from very despicable to plain bad, quite an achievement, I replay it just for the fine swinging with the high jumps and ease to move vertically, plus wall fights. Ehm, ok, it mostly sucks beyond that

No matter how glitched the Amazing Spider-Man game would turn out to be, I hope it has a much smaller amount than WoS, the more I play that 2008 game the more bugs surface, and it grows more painful, what kind of a game is that?
  • Sidekicks leave on their leisure: Didn't happen before, don't know why it happens now, they just go away and I still have the special meter full
  • Black screen after prying Kingpin's roof door open, I'm kinda glad I have save files after that missions saved
  • Random auto save, not after ending a mission, a side task, or finding a collectible, it works at random, care to shut the game
  • Flying cars with symbiote on top of them, before reaching them, they just fly
  • Missions on an island inaccessible
And a heckuva lot more, wonder why that thing is never addressed by anyone reviewing WoS, it's one of the buggiest games I played, and all very annoying bugs with hardly any entertainment value. I hope they gave TASM enough care in this year of tweaking to decrease the size of bugs to a high extent
I really want to see what the alternate costumes are.
We all do my friend

I'm interested in seeing how would it look being based on the new movie costume design

I'm honestly really surprised Beenox has been quiet about them. They did reveal plenty of costumes for SD and EoT, yet they only revealed the Vigilante and (if it counts) the Stan Lee skins.

I hope these get a reveal soon, I honestly say this is the first movie game I looked forward to, and the costumes are an important reason

Normally, I would be worried that the silence is caused by a lack of costumes, but they've already said there are a dozen suits.

Then again, they really haven't showed much of anything.

Costumes must be the Jack in the Box, I hope it's not dlc

They showed enough of the web rush, nice sample of swinging in all areas, good sample of combat, the map, and maybe a little more
What is really lacking in being shown now is extra activities

The rep at e3 mentioned that some of the 12 are dlc and some unlocked.

At this point, if they even do show the alt costumes I think I'll just try and not look. Rather be surprised as to what's in store when I get the game.

Actually now that i think about it, I'm really looking forward to discovering the alts on my own

Im surprised that they've been kept secret for this long instead of slowly being revealed the weeks leading up to release. Im really surprised they arent retailer exclusive from preorders

I rather like the fact that even the pre-orders are a lot more interesting than just a pack of skins. I much prefer mini-games with other playable characters.

Not to mention I'm still kinda sore they haven't released the Identity Crisis Skins for EoT. A friend owns the game and is a huge fan of the "Identity Crisis" story from the comics, so it does kinda bum me out he got screwed big time for that.

Why do they announce costumes as DLC this advance before the release of the game? How about next we have a story level missing and needed to be downloaded

F***ing DLCs

I wonder what things Beenox will reveal in this coming week...the full final week before the game drops. My guess is, we'll get a couple of more behind the scenes videos, maybe a glimpse at a couple of the alt skins, etc.

What do you guys think they'll show us this week?

Honestly man, i hope nothing. Im done looking at videos and reading previews. Iv got the game on preorder, I'm getting it. There isn't any reason for me to look at any more info for the game. I want to be surprised from here on out as to what ill see in the game.

I totally get what you're saying but I was wondering what they might possibly show us in the last week, not necessarily whether or not you'd actually view it. I feel the same way though, I honestly don't need to see any more...I've preordered as well and I'm getting the game no matter what. Seeing as how there's one week left before release...I was wondering what else they'd throw at those who may be on the fence about purchasing the game. I'd be very surprised if they did nothing.

What are the preorder bonuses?

I honestly don't want anything else info wise on the game. We sat around for a while wondering when they were gonna release some raw gameplay footage, they did so eventually, some of us had mixed feelings, turned around and released more video and won alot of people over. As much as I can appreciate leaks of information, i still like to keep a little bit of mystery upon playing. Dunno about you guys but I like that "oh ****, I didn't know they put that in there" moments when I play a game. As easily as I could have purchased Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, Lollipop Chainsaw, and few other titles that have came out in recent weeks, I've been holding out for TASM, all I gotta do is get thru this week and I'm good.

What are the preorder bonuses?

Gamestop is the Rhino Challenge where you can rampage NYC as the Rhino.

Amazon is the ability to play as Stan Lee and collect lost manuscripts to unlock a special comic book specifically for Spidey's 50th birthday.

There is supposedly a universal pre order no matter where you pre order. (Supposed to be alternate suits.)

I agree.

I just watched gameplay from a demo at walmart and although I don't care that he swings from the sky, why would Dee Brown blatantly lie about how the mechanic works? In his interviews he says that you will not be able to swing above the buildings or above central park, but you can clearly see in the video that Spider-Man is swinging when he is on top of some pretty tall buildings. Again I do not mind this anymore, just wondering why he wouldn't just admit to it. Watch from 40 seconds on to see what I am talking about.
