The Amazing Spider-Man: The Game - Part 4

Mask removals didn't bother me... I mean, with the kid (that part my son LOVED as his name is Jackson.. so he t hought Spider-Man was talking to him) is totally something Peter would do. With the cops.. He moved so fast that they wouldn't see him and in the sewers he probably seen better without it on.

What didn't you like about Conners? I thought it was perfect?

I agree about the costume. I really liked that it stayed damaged through the rest of the film too.. Parkers a high school kid, he can't be buying and making new costumes left and right. Emma Stone was also flawless, IMHO. It's going to suck when she finally bites it. The film also had the BEST Stan Lee cameo ever.

Marvels having a stellar year so far. I sure wish DC could get on friggin' track. Batman is great but c'mon..

I know right, I'm a big Marvel fan, DC is cool, but they gotta get their heads out of their asses, after that abysmal Green Lantern film, people that were crying about Spidey being rebooted to soon are gonna be more livid when they reboot Green Lantern, or will they? DC could learn alot from Marvel's approach, and I certainly hope that Sony finds a way to tie in Spidey with the Avengers. It's something about knowing that a string of films all transpire within the same continuity

Yeah, that's a bit of an odd one.. Not sure why they're going with that. I was hoping for either a DareDevil reboot or a Black Panther flick.

They're trying to work with Disney, right? From what I hear Sony wants a peace of the Avengers pie. I agree though, even if it's just Spider-Man being brought into that universe... It will feel so much "better" if you will. Even if it's just small things like JJJ sending Parker out to take photos of the new Avengers Tower and whatnot.

You said exactly what I was thinking, I would be great to have Spidey in the mix. I would definitely want him to be the one everyone gets annoyed with because of his antics. I can't even imagine what Spidey would say about Cap, being that Cap is a 70+ year old man that's clearly in the prime of his life

RDJ and Garfield playing off of each other, trading wise cracks and whatnot would also be gold.

And maybe getting a little scene like this:

he stood, maskless, facing capt Stacey for what felt like 20 minutes, all while swat and a police chopper looked directly at him. then of course there's the fact he ordered web fluid from Oscorp, which he then used to swing around as Spidey. also, Oscorp had no security in one of their most important areas of the building? I know ya have to suspended disbelief a little bit, but that was just some lazy movie making.

Well, it's quite heavily implied that he was LET in.

The Indian Dr he runs into then mentions to Connors later that he knows EXACTLY who he is, then of course the after credits scene. You get the clear idea Peter has been watched by someone, maybe Oscorp, for a long time.

Well.. in Spider-Man 2 I'm pretty sure ALL of New York scene him without his mask.. How many people were on that train? All they said was "we promise not to tell."

I was honestly hoping for him to put a paper bag on his head at one point. Also.. Best line in the movie? "CRRRROOOOOOTCH!"

In regards to that after the credits scene.. I could have sworn the "man in black" was Christoph Waltz.

kinda off topic, I thought I would have been pissed at those lights going off when Spidey shoots his webs, but it actually looked pretty damn cool. Garfield was great, put that one in the books, he was so believable as Peter Parker. Tobey was good in his own right, but something was off about his portrayal

I don't really know how I feel about Spidey in the Avengers. I know he's one now but when I think Avengers I don't really think Spider-Man. That and movie crossovers just seem superfluous. It works for comics and it's fun yeah but I don't think it'd translate. Certainly not to the scale of the entire Marvel Universe (yes, I realise that's what they did with Avengers, but only with 6 or 7 characters, not every single one). I don't mind nods or anything though.

I thought it was a great move to have PP be more of a loner than just a cliched 'nerd'.

Agreed.. I also like that the progressed AWAY from the "nerd/loner" at the end of the film. I hated that Toby stayed a complete dork in Spidey 2.

That's probably my biggest complaint with the Raimi movies in general. Pete never really becomes Spider-Man to me. It's a great Peter Parker study in a way, but when he put on the mask (and lost it in an ensuing battle :p) I never felt like I was getting his Spidey side of his personality. It just was Peter with a mask on.

Totally agree, Tobey in costume was awesome, but his attitude was not that Spidey like, he just seemed the same. Garfield did both parts extremely well, dunno about you guys, but when I watched TASM, people were cracking up when Peter would come home battered and bloody and somehow still smiling at Aunt May.

Threw down money on the game, and Spidey still swings from the clouds. Wtf? Why are we still dealing with the same ****, Activision? Seriously.

Welcome to two-three months ago? The cloud swinging has already been explained.

Late as hell bro, this topic has already been talked about, in the future, watch gameplay videos. Know who you're getting in the bed with before you get in the bed with em, just sayin. Game is fun, overlooked where his webs attach to, not that important to me, not like he was in lower orbit swinging

I actually just got back from seeing the movie again. don't know why but I enjoyed it SO much more the 2nd go round. as I was watchin it tho I couldnt help but wish Beenox would of used the same sound for the web shooters that the film crew used.

also REALLY wish the crimes were organic. damn I just wanna swing around and beat up thugs.

maybe he doesnt follow every bit of news and preview released for this thing? I wouldnt have known myself without playing most likely months to a year down the line till I just read it form him

My first thoughts on the game: Underwhelming. Too much automation.

Why is still bugs me, for the most part, cloud swinging isn't that big of an issue. What I do have a problem with is that you can literally hold down R2 and Spider-Man will swing forever, without a problem. Just weblines and acrobatics until the end of time. If he runs into a wall, he'll start running up it until he reaches top, flip over the edge and carry on swinging.

That's not fun at all.

See, this just reminds me of the Detective Mode complaints of Arkham Asylum.

Yes, it's true, if you hold that button down, you'll keep moving... Doesn't mean you have to. I don't think I've done that ONCE. Why? Because it has always felt PERFECTLY natural to just let go of the trigger after a webline and then press the trigger again when you want to swing.

This isn't Spider-Man 2, where webswinging is your only way around, nor is the challenge in getting from point A to point B. The challenge is moving through the environment in the coolest and most Spidey like way possible.

If you just want to swing from one of end of the city the other, fine but you're boring anyway. You'd make a terrible Spidey in real life if that is the limit of your imagination. I, on the other hand, will try to move as organically as possible, like I think Spidey would. If the big buildings drop off and there are just a bunch of low rooftops, I'll just sprint, air vent hop and web rush from water tower to water tower, then wallrun up a Sky Scraper, leap of the top and land perfectly on the tip of an antenna.

THAT is Spidey, to me. The organics of the movement. The challenge isn't in being ABLE to move, that should be easy since it's easy for Spidey, the challenge is in timing the Webrush and swings and jumps so you can OWN that playground of a city.

Firstly, I said you can just hold down R2, never claimed that's all I do.

Secondly, it just sounds like you've backwards rationalised. Even if I did just want to swing from one end of the city to the other, I shouldn't be penalised for it by way of a completely automated process. I should be able to kick off a webline, with whichever point in the arc I choose, determining the speed and angle I continue in. Swinging around a corner, should be different than heading forward.

Yes, using a combination of webswinging and webrushing and running (I miss the option to sprint) and jumping and wall running, is the most fun way to do it. But all that really says is "They've made this too easy, I'm going to make it hard for myself."

They claimed it's my playground, but they've really given me only one way to play that's any fun.

Well, a year from now I would probably have told you "been there, discussed that and it's been explained." Soooo...
