maybe he doesnt follow every bit of news and preview released for this thing? I wouldnt have known myself without playing most likely months to a year down the line till I just read it form him

And whose fault is that? Its not hard to hit the internet and do a quick search BEFORE you run out and slap 60 dollars down on a game.

Yes, using a combination of webswinging and webrushing and running (I miss the option to sprint) and jumping and wall running, is the most fun way to do it. But all that really says is "They've made this too easy, I'm going to make it hard for myself."

No, they've given you more options to get from point a to b. At least more options that actually work in comparison to previous spidey titles. Running along a roof, flipping off water towers, diving off the side of a building, firing a web line then precisely landing on an antenna was impossible in previous games. You can do all that here. The web swing system doesnt really need to be anything more than simple. Spidey does it almost effortlessly.

My only gripe is the cloud swinging, but then again i want the game to be as grounded as possible. I just stay below buildings to web swing, gives me at least a little more authenticity, even if its only cosmetic.

See, this just reminds me of the Detective Mode complaints of Arkham Asylum.

Yes, it's true, if you hold that button down, you'll keep moving... Doesn't mean you have to. I don't think I've done that ONCE. Why? Because it has always felt PERFECTLY natural to just let go of the trigger after a webline and then press the trigger again when you want to swing.

This isn't Spider-Man 2, where webswinging is your only way around, nor is the challenge in getting from point A to point B. The challenge is moving through the environment in the coolest and most Spidey like way possible.

If you just want to swing from one of end of the city the other, fine but you're boring anyway. You'd make a terrible Spidey in real life if that is the limit of your imagination. I, on the other hand, will try to move as organically as possible, like I think Spidey would. If the big buildings drop off and there are just a bunch of low rooftops, I'll just sprint, air vent hop and web rush from water tower to water tower, then wallrun up a Sky Scraper, leap of the top and land perfectly on the tip of an antenna.

THAT is Spidey, to me. The organics of the movement. The challenge isn't in being ABLE to move, that should be easy since it's easy for Spidey, the challenge is in timing the Webrush and swings and jumps so you can OWN that playground of a city.

:up::up::up::up::up:

Oh man, I'm crazy to play the game to know which side of this argument I'll be on.

Anyone else have their game get stuck loading after the credits?

Couldn't have said it better myself!:up:

Wolvieboy17 = the voice of reason, great post :yay:

Hey guys, I've been hearing a lot of negative things from critics, but a lot of great things from spidey fans and casual gamers. I was just wondering if this is well worth the 60$, because I am now considered a casual gamer as I stopped being hardcore a few months ago. I just recently bought Spider-Man 2, and I need more.

I think if ur a Spidey fan it's a must own. I think it's the best Spidey title we've been given.

I see some here and in the other thread mentioned pretty annoying bugs in this game, some are mildly annoying for someone who doesn't care for trophies and achievements (like me not caring much and the 100% game completion registered), other's are painfully annoying:
  • Some upgrades cannot be bought at the right time, so the player restarts the game to do it and purchase said upgrade
  • Long load screen after credits (better than what I faced with MUA, if I keep credits roll to the end then it gets stuck, if I skip it I can free play with ease)
  • For some stuff system time needs to be reset
Probably more
I hope for PC we get the main version (PS3/XBox360), and these bugs are worked out there

Now that I know most of my concerns are answered (swinging, charged jump height, variety, bugs...), I think it's safe to assume I'll enjoy this game notably more than the previous 3 outputs in certain areas, but will hardly pay full price for it

One aspect I have firm believe I'll enjoy here less than previous games is web swinging, every other free roam Spider-Man game satisfies me when it comes to web swinging, I love to hold the line and keep swinging some distance, from what I saw of the swinging here Spidey leaves the line too soon for my liking, and will like it less when I experience not leaving the line at my leisure

One thing I think is safe to say here is done best is the combat moves, never seen or played any other Spidey game with better ground combat moves
Marvels having a stellar year so far. I sure wish DC could get on friggin' track. Batman is great but c'mon..
Spirit of Vengeance was pretty much a flop

Guardians Of The Galaxy might be their first flop. That is a big question mark
He mentioned Spider-Man, so his comment isn't on Marvel movie studios output
If you consider previous flops from Marvel movies (Elektra, X-Men Origins: Wolverine and Ghost Rider), then GotG won't be the first

Well sadly I don't have the same opinion of the new movie as everyone else (and Ebert actually rated it 3.5 stars, so that's the first time he liked a comic book movie more than me P.S. He gave Spider-Man 1 2 stars). I'd give it about an 8, but I left the movie theater VERY disappointed. I wanted it to trump Spider-Man 2, or at least be comparable, which it most definitely was not. But enough negativity; the positives for me were that 1) Emma Stone as Gwen is easily the best love interest in the Spidey films hands down. Probably for comic book movies overall as well, if you don't count Magneto in First Class.:oldrazz: Two, The Lizard fight scenes were by far the best of the Spidey foursome, and also probably in the top 3 for comic book movies overall. I just loved how Spidey kept getting his ass kicked against such a superior opponent. Sure GG tore Spidey a new one, but Peter came back to lay the smackdown too. In this movie, the inexperience of Parker, as well as the overwhelming might of his antagonist proved to be far too much. It doesn't help when the guy you're fighting heals faster than Wolverine and Sabretooth combined. Thirdly, the costume and physique of the actor were perfect. It's not like Tobey was bulky, but Andrew works better, as far as Spidey's look goes.

This is stuff to know would save one from being let down, and it's minor
yeah it is minor, but Im saying its easy to miss for someone that doesnt follow every preview and video thats released on the game prior to release.

Well I got this game alot sooner than I had planned on. Thanks to a B2G2F glitch on Bestbuy.com, I managed to get this, Max Payne 3, DMC Collection and Batman AC GOTY for $128. After gift cards, I only paid $67 and I will be getting $10 for ordering something over $50 making all 4 games $57. Off to play this game first since I just saw the movie yesterday

Has this happened to anyone else? I have an upgrade available, but nothing available to purchase.

I don't think I can earn anymore XP as it's locked on "Upgrade Available" but when I go onto it, there is nothing there for me to buy.

Any suggestions?
